Recently, I took a one-man drive to the Valley of Fire and it was heavenly. That’s why I want to give you six scenic drives and day trips that you should consider taking when you visit Las Vegas.
You’ll feel so relaxed and energized.
#1: The Valley of Fire State Park
Visiting the Valley of Fire should be on your bucket list. It’s one of the most scenic drives in Southern Nevada. The Valley of Fire Highway is off I-15 N. The road in the desert leads to a barren landscape that’s not just beautiful. It’s exquisite. The red-rock Aztec Sandstone outcrops will take your breath away.
There are many hiking trails that have ancient petroglyphs. There are also shaded areas where you can have a picnic.
#2: Red Rock Canyon Byway
There are people who consider Red Rock Canyon to be one of the wonders of the world. But have you ever gone through the scenic byway? It’s a 13-mile scenic loop, and it’s a road that you should drive through with the top of your car down. You’ll see unique plants, local wildlife, and colorful rock hills.
#3: Hoover Dam Bypass
When you are in Vegas, consider going down Lakeshore Road onto Hoover Dam. You can go on a tour, but if you want to enjoy the scenery and relax better, you should take a drive. You will get to relax without the fear of having a hangover the next day.
#4: Lake Mead National Recreational Area
Lake Mead is a 12-mile drive down Lakeshore Road. Driving down to this amazing place will enable you enjoy the most amazing views and places. For example, you will see the famous Coffee Cup Café in Boulder City and the Historic Railroad Trail. It is a popular spot for tourists and you can even rent a boat when you are there, and continue relaxing.
#5: Death Valley National Park
A drive to and through Death Valley National Park is one that you will enjoy making. It’s a basin below sea level and is nothing but magical.
The dry desert gives you a beautiful vision. You should consider making your drive after the rainy season because the park will be covered with greenery and wildflowers.
#6: Lamoille Canyon Scenic Drive
Lamoille Canyon is situated in Elko on Interstate Elko 80. It’s a definite must-see for you if you want to unwind. It’s an easy drive and will give you some of the most beautiful scenery in the whole of Nevada. And guess what! You will see the lovely Ruby Mountains.
