NOTORIETY Announces Exciting New Entertainment Line-Up

Downtown’s NEONOPOLIS show factory unleashes music, comedy, variety…and a few shirtless Aussies…

With a new year comes a new line-up at NOTORIETY Live, and we’re here to tell you about it. The entertainment venue inside Fremont Street’s NEONONOPOLIS complex will be bringing back some existing residencies, along with a few short-term gigs, special events, and new ongoing shows.

First up on Saturday the 21st, an all-new live spoof of “The Golden Girls’ entitled THE GOLDEN GAYS. Told in a series of “hot flashbacks”, the adults-only musical follows Blanche, Dorothy, and Rose as they try to find missing matriarch Sophia. Showtime is 9 pm and tickets can be purchased here.

FAAABULOUS! The Show has been on hiatus through January while original hostess “Edie Entertainer” (Christopher Kenney) and seasonal emcee “Stevie Hart” (Steven Retchless) both perform in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Edie and the cast return on February 2nd. FAAABULOUS! The Show performs every Thursday and Friday at 9 pm. Get tickets here.

That same weekend, psychic/mindreader/mentalist Alain Nu brings his reality-bending skills to NOTORIETY for a series of performances. Beginning Friday the 2oth at 7 pm, you can be part of the thrills and surprises. Tickets for ALAIN NU – THE MAN WHO KNOWS start at $29 (plus taxes/fees) and the show is open to all ages. Click here for schedule and seats.

In the mood for some hot male flesh? NOTORIETY brings back two servings of beef. CHASE BROWN VEGAS COUNTRY offers the chest-baring talents of powerful vocalist Chase Brown, who sings, dances, and semi-strips, all in one steamy showcase. The Texas hunk appears Fridays at 9 pm inside the Chandelier Room.

Just down the hall inside the Renkus-Heinz theater, the AUSSIE HEAT meat market continues to fire up libidos. The shelves have been restocked with a new selection of prime cuts, including American and Hawaiian meats, They’re joined by the original collection of Australian abs and pecs. AUSSIE HEAT performs on weekends at 9 pm.

Arrive early for a free meet-and-greet. The show is followed by a free after-party, where you can buy cast photos and body shots to lick from your favorite dancer’s bare torso. Tickets to AUSSIE HEAT and CHASE BROWN VEGAS COUNTRY can be reserved here.

More heat, this time of the feminine variety, arrives on January 29th by way of EVOLVE. Fashionista songstress Kelly Vohnn has teamed up with super-sexxy Jennifer Romas for a unique evening of glamour, seduction, and sensational music.

EVOLVE is described as a “fun, sexy journey of life through a woman’s eyes” which “celebrates every age and stage of a woman with tongue-in-cheek humor, tear-jerking moments and “show boys”. I’ve learned that one of those boys may be ab-tastic Rico Bozant.

Rumor has it that Chadwick Johnson will be one of Kelly’s guests for EVOLVE‘s limited engagement, which runs through February 12th. Get your tickets here, and look for my one-on-one with Ms. Vohnn in an upcoming column.

Speaking of evolving, the next iteration of Lucie May’s WILD ONES arrives at NOTORIETY on Saturday, February 18th. LUCIEFR is described as “hard rock from Hell”, and if you’ve seen this lady’s previous shows around the city, you know that she pulls no punches.

Lucie May has a knack for gathering awesome musicians, singers, variety performers, and comedians wherever she goes. I’ve attended a number of these showcases at comedy clubs, rock bars, and even the newest SAND DOLLAR location inside downtown’s PLAZA HOTEL. If you’re looking for a sure bet, mark LUCIEFR on your calendar.

Doors to the bar open at 9 pm. Lucie and the cast take to the stage at ten. Enjoy two hours of “hard rock, punk rock, real rock!!” with covers of Motörhead, Sex Pistols, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, and more. Tickets available here.

February 2nd heralds the arrival of Downtown Comedy Lounge at NOTORIETY’s Robin Leach Theater. Thursday through Saturday at 7 pm, experience “an outrageous night of laughter with the funniest comedians from America’s Got Talent, Last Comic Standing, Comedy Central, and Netflix!”

Tickets start at $39.95, with a $19.95 special for locals with Nevada ID. Audience members must be 21 and over. Doors open at 6:30 pm.

Valentine’s Day brings yet another great-looking singer into the NOTORIETY fold. From New York City to Nashville, handsome Anthony Nunziata has set hearts aflutter with romantic ballads and iconic standards.

“Anthony has planned a setlist that includes soaring arias, crossover hits, Broadway classics, famous love songs, and his celebrated original songs.” He joins a growing roster of young NOTORIETY entertainers that salute the Golden Era of music. They include Jonathan Karrant, Justin Young, and Chris Ruggiero.

Anthony Nunziata performs at 8 pm in the Renkus-Heinz Theater. Doors open at 7 pm and tickets start at $35 (plus taxes/fees). You can purchase them here.

Some people were born to be onstage, and Vegas “Entertainer of the Year” Jimmy Hopper is one of them. The audacious pianist-singer is explosive, irreverent, and packed with class and sass. His latest show salutes piano men Billy Joel, Elton John, and Neil Diamond. See Jimmy at NOTORIETY on April 15th at 3 pm. Tickets can be reserved here.

It may have flown under this writer’s radar, but apparently, last year’s SKANKFEST was a big enough event to warrant a 2023 return. The three-day comedy competition is for adults only. It begins September 29th and runs through October 1st. Watch the official Facebook page for announcements and ticket sales info.

NOTORIETY is located at 300 Fremont Street on the third level of NEONOPOLIS. Parking is available underneath Neonopolis. From 4th Street, enter the ramp just past Denny’s and take elevator to the 3rd floor.
