Vegas entertainment gets a kick in the mistletoe with a wide array of Christmas productions…
The Strip lights are all twinklingThere’s no room at the inn But because ’tis the season They’ll comp a suite for Mary at the Wynn – Song by Richard Cheese
So you’ve made it through Round One and Round Two of our 2022 holiday entertainment line-up, and you’re nearly exhausted by the options. But brace yourself…there’s a lot more to cover. So grab a hot toddy and let’s get started.
One of the most powerful singers to ever hit the Strip is Ruby Lewis. From BAZ to MARILYN to Broadway’s PARAMOUR, this Southern gal has a stage presence like no other. I was fortunate to be on hand when Ms. Lewis debuted STARLET at The Nevada Room last year. Since then, this intimate yet epic ode to Hollywood glamour has not only crossed the nation but just completed a run in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
Fortunately for us in Sin City, the gorgeous entertainer is unveiling a holiday version of STARLET on December 1st. Presented by Kelly Clinton-Holmes. A STARTLET STUDDED CHRISTMAS will perform inside The Stirling Club at 8 pm. Click here for tickets.
If your taste for holiday music leans toward a bit of irreverence, you’re sure to enjoy the freewheeling style of Vincent John. Fresh from his final performance of THE BRONX WANDERERS residency at Westgate Las Vegas, young Vinny is teaming up with bandmate Fernando Torte, star drummer Alex Papa (MJ The Evolution, Piano Man), and raise-the-roof rocker Cassie Stone for A VERY SWINGIN’ CHRISTMAS.
“It’s the most wonderful time of the year!! It’s that time when I get to do my favorite show with my favorite holiday tunes with the baddest band in town! Get your tickets for Italian American Club on Dec. 18th. Join an 11-piece band and me as we pay homage to Brian Setzer’s holiday show! We got a Grinch and a nutcracker. Santa may even make an appearance. Can’t wait to see everyone. And my dad might come up and join us!” – Vincent John
Vincent’s holiday shows are wildly popular with fans both young and old, and they sell out every year. He’s been known to add additional performances and locations when needed, so don’t be surprised if the December 18th show at Italian American Club warrants an encore. But don’t take chances. Get your tickets now by heading here.
You’ve surely noticed that Italian American Club has come up quite a bit in this series. If you’ve never visited before, now is the time. IAC is a truly magnificent venue that lives and breathes the Golden Era of Vegas. Classy entertainment, fantastic food, and a stylish vintage venue run by an amazing team.
Chris Ruggiero has a new Christmas album which was featured in a recent issue of Rolling Stone Magazine. The handsome young Floridian, whose summer South Point appearance told you about here, is returning to the IAC stage for a holiday showcase. And venerable Vegas showman Zowie Bowie will be doing the same. Head to the Italian American Club website for dates, times, and tickets.
Tuscany Resort’s Piazza Lounge is another great spot to gather for holiday tunes. There’s never a cover and the line-up features America’s Got Talent Winner Michael Grimm, the gorgeous Sandy Knights (our profile piece is here), and smooth crooner Craig Canter.
Philly native Craig is one of those entertainers that everyone loves. Stylish, witty, and easy-going, he gives off the kind of vibes that made Dean Martin such an icon. You can hear Craig Canter and his band every Monday at Tuscany Resort. He tells me that he’ll be bringing on the Christmas cheer this season.
“I will be performing Christmas songs through December 19th. We’ll have John Wedemeyer on guitar, Mike Clark on keyboards, and Adam Shendel on drums”. Tuscany Resort is located at 255 East Flamingo Avenue.
It’s a “Medieval Winter Wonderland” at Excalibur’s Tournament of Kings dinner show, now through December 25th. The royally entertaining adventure has been transformed into a special holiday production entitled ‘Twas the Knight”. Tickets are available here.
In the final chapter of our holiday round-up, I’ll head to Modern Showrooms at Alexis Park Resort, where nearly the entire slate of productions has undergone a holiday makeover.
