Is NASCAR Planning a Street Race on the Las Vegas Strip?

The Las Vegas Strip has been host to some pretty spectacular shows, and 2023 will be no different. This year, we’ll even see 20+ Formula One race cars speeding around the twists and turns of Sin City in hopes of victory.

The move is raising questions about whether the layout will be used by other organizations in the future.

One big question is could NASCAR use the six-mile, 14-turn layout of the Strip for a Cup race? The sport will already be hosting its first street race in Chicago over the July 4th weekend, and the door could be open to expanding.

F1 is expected to make an enormous sum from its Vegas race, which will no doubt lead to others wanting to cash in

Steve Hill, CEO of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitor Authority, claims that NASCAR is already looking into a Vegas street race. This will all depend on the success of the F1 experience, though.

As for how this would affect the races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, some speculate that one of the races will be removed.

The move couldn’t come at a better time for Formula One and NASCAR, which are both looking to court new audiences for the future.  That’s why Formula One is trying to bring more races to the U.S.

This is also why NASCAR keeps coming up with new gimmicks to enchant new audiences. The hope is that one day, the two will grow their perspective audiences and bring racing to more people than ever.

Either way, it’s a win for racing fans everywhere. Holding a street race in Las Vegas will be nothing short of epic.
