One place that many tourists overlook is Hoover Dam. There are so many reasons why a visit to this American wonder should be on your vacation itinerary. Today, I’m going to tell you 10.

Hoover Dam is only a 30-minute drive from Vegas. And that’s why it’s one of the six scenic drives in Las Vegas to help you relax. You can explore it in the morning and return to the city for fun.

Lake Mead is the largest and, arguably, one of the most picturesque reservoirs in the country. It covers 248 square miles, and it’s capable of holding 28.9 million acre-feet of water, which is equivalent to 325,000 gallons.

Hoover Dam is on the Nevada – Arizona border, and if you’re going to the Grand Canyon, you can stop to marvel at it on your way. Think about Red Rock Canyon as well if you have the time.
