“Padam Padam” Hitmaker Kylie Minogue is Coming to Vegas

Global pop princess is finally set to conquer Sin City after years of teasing…

UPDATE 7/28/23 – The Kylie Minogue residency at Venetian Resort Las Vegas has been confirmed by the entertainer herself via a press conference in Los Angeles yesterday. Tickets go on sale 8/9/23 and will be available at VoltaireLV.com. Click HERE for VEGAS 411’s coverage of the press release.

VitalVegas.com maestro Scott Roeben broke the news in November 2022 that Australian pop star Kylie Minogue had her sights set on a Strip residency. As it turns out, my colleague may have another notch in his “scoop belt”. Review-Journal’s John Katsilometes reported this week that the “Padam Padam” chart-topper is heading to Venetian Resort Las Vegas in November. But the teasing started a long LONG time ago.

All the way back in May of 2011, Ms. Minogue hinted at a possible Las Vegas residency. Her worldwide APHRODITE tour had played at Caesars Palace Colosseum to a wildly enthusiastic response. The huge production featured aerialists, gladiators, chariots, and the singer soaring over a pool and fountain (take that, Adele).

APHRODITE seemed tailor-made for the Vegas stage, yet some questioned the Aussie’s widespread appeal. Fast-forward to 2023, and the hit song “Padam Padam” becomes the global anthem of the summer. With the States finally catching Kylie Mania, the timing couldn’t be better for a long-term Las Vegas gig.

According to Katsilometes, Minogue will play weekends at Venetian’s Opaline Theater. That venue has seen little action since Rock of Ages moved to off-Strip Rio Las Vegas in 2016. The Opaline will be refashioned into a cabaret-style “Voltaire Club” for Minogue’s residency. The resort’s Palazzo Theater was redesigned to accommodate the two-year run of BAZ in much the same way.

Minogue’s sixteenth studio album TENSION is set to release in late September, just weeks ahead of her proposed Venetian Resort residency. This writer acquired an advanced copy of the recording last month. It’s another slam dunk and a worthy addition to her impressive discography. TENSION is sure to rule the worldwide pop and dance charts for months.

Kylie’s 2020 album DISCO was such a massive success that it yielded two multi-disc spin-offs…INFINITE DISCO and DISCO: GUEST LIST EDITION. Drenched in authentic late-70s sounds and cover art, the heavily-promoted albums were cleverly made available on vinyl and cassette formats. Singles from the three collections are still in heavy rotation at international dance clubs and American LGBTQ hotspots.

No official dates have been announced for Kylie Minogue’s Venetian residency. VEGAS 411 will follow this developing story and notify you when tickets go on sale.
