Track #5 (of 5): Around Town Medley: The Village Courtyard @Arts District, Italian American Club @East Sahara Ave, Streets Of New York @Centennial Hills
The mannequins among us. (Image: Vegas 411)
It’s exciting to see The Village Courtyard take shape in the Arts District on East Colorado Ave near Casino Center Blvd. Thanks to the welcoming red mannequin sculpture near the entrance, it’s hard to miss this eclectic mixed use space that’s adjacent to Glam Factory Vintage and The Melting Pot Vintage on one side and Rockin Bettie on the other. I took note of the casual food concepts coming soon like Steak Hut and stopped into the smartly curated Eclectic Home decor/fashion shop, where you can scoop up Beatles, Bowie, and Ramones throw pillows (must-haves in my book).
Life can be a bitch, so you gotta enjoy the kitsch. (Image: Vegas 411)
There are many reasons to love the Italian American Club on East Sahara Ave. One of them is being greeted out in front by an upliftingly kitschy pseudo-Roman statue. It’s all part of the fun of dining at this long running (since 1962) restaurant, lounge, showroom, and banquet space. It’s a true vintage Vegas charmer—a standalone white building with an estimated 12,000 square feet—where those lovably wild Rat Packers used to roll under the radar. Might I add that the IAC’s juicy lamb chops, served with grilled eggplant and mashed potatoes, are intoxicating?

Life’s easy, and tasty, on Norman Rockwell Lane. (Image: Vegas 411)
Look for the casual Italian eatery Streets of New York in Centennial Hills on Norman Rockwell Lane—a street that’s not gritty like NYC but cute and spotless (with no subway stop in sight). This pizza-pasta-subs restaurant is joined here by other popular spots including La Casa De Juliette (Mexican), Nittaya’s Little Kitchen (Thai), Coffee Religion, and Leev Matcha Atelier (dessert/matcha cafe). After dining, you can easily stroll over to the spacious, green, and pastoral Pop Squires Park.
