Las Vegas Transportation Options in 2023

It’s easy to get around Las Vegas. The city has a wide range of 24/7 transportation options, including limos, taxis, rideshare apps, free trams, shuttles, the Monorail, and buses.

Here, I have put together an all-inclusive list of transportation options in Las Vegas for 2023, with budgets and luxury preferences to help you plan your trip.

The Underground Loop Transportation System

This is a new Vegas transportation system from the Boring Company’s Vegas Loop. You can use it right now to get around the Las Vegas Convention Center. It’s growing by the day, and the Resorts World Loop Station will soon be fully open. The current Resorts World stop is the sole stop outside the convention Center, but it’s not quite convenient because there’s a short walk required. Encore and Westgate will soon have a station connecting them to the Convention Center.

Rides around the Convention Center are free. If you want to connect to Resorts World, it’s $4.50 for a day pass.

You can Get Around on Foot

Resorts on the Strip appear closer than they actually are. Walking is NOT a good idea in the middle of summer when it’s 110 degrees Fahrenheit outside. However, when it’s not blazing hot, you might enjoy a stroll in front of the casinos. I advise you to wear comfortable shoes if this is your choice of transportation and to catch a ride when you get tired.

Rent a Car

Renting a car is another option. This is especially if you want to go on trips outside the Strip, such as Lake Mead, Death Valley, and Red Rock Canyon. Book your reservation in advance because it will be cheaper.

You can reserve a car for as little as $20 plus fees and tax, which may cost up to $45 per day. If you wait until you get to your hotel, you’ll still have the opportunity to rent, but it will be more expensive. You must also consider parking fees because while there’s free parking in Las Vegas, it’s hard to find on the Strip.

Loop Shuttle in Downtown Las Vegas

The Downtown Loop is a free shuttle that makes stops at places Downtown like the Mob Museum, the Fremont Street Experience, and the Las Vegas Premium Outlets. It also connects Downtown to the STRAT at the north end of the Strip.

Trams

Las Vegas has free trams that can help you through your trip. The first runs from Excalibur to Luxor and to Mandalay Bay at the south end of the Strip. It has an elevated track. Another one connects Mirage and TI on the north end. There is also another free tram that connects the Bellagio, Park MGM/Aria, and Crystals.

The Deuce Bus

The Deuce Bus runs up and down the Strip and connects Fremont Street. It has numerous stops, which are clearly marked and located in front of nearly every casino.

You can purchase single ride, 2-hour ride, or 24-hour ride passes at most stops. I recommend downloading and purchasing the rideRTC phone app because it’s very convenient. Buses run every 15-20 minutes during the day.

Deuce Bus fares

  • 2-Hr Pass: $6
  • 24-Hr Pass: $8
  • 3-Day Pass: $20

It’s the cheapest mode of transportation in the city, but it’s not fast because it makes a lot of stops. If you’re in a hurry, opt for another mode of transportation.

The Monorail

The Monorail is an affordable way to get around the east side of the Strip. It runs north from MGM Grand all the way to Sahara and Westgate. There are stops in between at the Flamingo, Harrah’s, and the Convention Center. It doesn’t connect to the airport or Downtown.

Costs

  • Single Ride: $6
  • 24-Hr Pass: $15
  • 2-Day Pass: $32
  • 4-Day Pass: $39
  • 5-Day Pass: $47
  • 7-Day Pass: 62

I must mention that it will require you to walk between the stop and the resort.

Limos and Taxis

Limos are expensive and luxurious. There are many limousine service companies, including Omni, Bell, and Presidential, among others. Typically, you’ll pay about $60 per hour for a stretch option.

Taxis, on the other hand, are convenient for pick-up locations. They’re more convenient than their rideshare peers. They are fast but are expensive. Fares are generally 20-30% more than their rideshare competitors.

Uber and Lyft

Uber and Lyft are pretty convenient and usually cheaper than cabs. They are actually my go-to way of getting around Sin City.
