SUMMER SHOW SHUFFLE #4 – “Only Yesterday”

Even new residencies are on the move in the latest entertainment roundup.

Seems like “Only Yesterday” that we told you about Carpenters Legacy settling in at The Mint. In actuality, that was four weeks ago. But in Summer 2022, four weeks may as well be that many months. As of today, Carpenters Legacy is on the move once more. and this time they’re joining the line-up at The Modern Showrooms of Alexis Park Resort.

Carpenters Legacy at The Mint earlier this summer

Carpenters Legacy is a heartfelt tribute concert starring Sally Olson and Ned Mills. The duo is announcing their move to The Modern Showrooms at Alexis Park this morning, and VEGAS 411 has the exclusive details. Ms. Olson notified us last night via email that they were excited about the sudden shuffle:

“We are excited to bring Carpenters Legacy to Modern Showrooms at Alexis Park Resort. As the venue features classic vintage Vegas entertainment with everything from Elvis to Motown, we are honored to be a part of the Modern Showrooms lineup.”

“The Modern Showroom team has done an incredible job of re-creating the vintage Vegas aesthetic at their venue. Given the fact that the Carpenters performed at Caesars Palace, the Riviera, and MGM Grand during their heyday in the mid-70s, Modern Showrooms is really the perfect home for Carpenters Legacy.”

Pete Housley is the CEO of ADMIT.VIP, which operates numerous productions at Modern Showrooms. He stated, “We are truly getting to be the classic Vegas entertainment location.” With titles like Elvis tribute “All Shook Up”, “WONDERLAND”, “BurlesQ”, and the female-centric “All Motown”, Alexis Park does indeed lean heavily on nostalgia and great vibes.

Tickets for CARPENTERS LEGACY are available at ModernVegas.com starting today, with major brokers picking it up by the end of the week.  Opening night is July 18th, with the show performing inside the Pegasus Showroom every Monday through Thursday at 8 pm. Alexis Park Resort is located at 375 E. Harmon Avenue, across from Virgin Hotels Las Vegas and adjacent to Serene Boutique Resort

Mosaic Shockingly Quick Exit

Mosaic Theater on the Strip (above)

Other big news on the entertainment front is the sudden closure of MOSAIC THEATER on the Strip. The embattled venue, which offered retro-cool titles like QUEENS OF ROCK, MJ: The Evolution, and LADY LIKE, pulled the plug last Monday due to dangerous electrical problems. Already slated to close in the fall, MOSAIC‘s operators decided to forego expensive repairs to the doomed facility and notified the respective casts soon after.

Look for all three productions to be shopped around to new homes soon. Could one or more of them be added to the ever-expanding Modern Showrooms lineup? If so, we’ll let you know right here.
