Raider Nation is frustrated, and we can't blame them. Here's what's going on with the Raiders.
#5 Rich Bissacia being passed over as Las Vegas Raiders head coach

Rich Bisaccia became a beacon of light for the Las Vegas Raiders during the Jon Gruden scandal and led the team to a 7-5 record in the final 12 games of the season in 2021/2022. This effort was good enough to earn the Raiders a playoff spot for the first time in years while also showcasing major improvements on both sides of the ball.
Why, then, would the team choose to get rid of Bissacia in favor of Josh McDaniels? The answer probably came down to name recognition or learning under Bill Belichick for several years. Either way, Las Vegas fans have a right to be upset that Bisaccia is no longer with the Raiders. He deserved so much better and so did the fans.
#4 The Raiders' lack of conditioning

The Raiders have a lot of problems to fix over the 2023 off-season, but the biggest has to be their lack of conditioning. Las Vegas has just blown too many leads and lost too many games for it not to be a factor. The team seems to be unable to put four quarters of quality football together, making them a middle-of-the-pack team.
There were many times that the Raiders had all the momentum in the world, but let it waste away by the second half. This usually resulted in getting cut up on defense or watching Derek Carr choke on offense. While that could be excused once or twice a season, it’s something that’s happening every single week.
Las Vegas Raiders fans deserve a better team. Instead, they are the laughingstock of the league while their team continues to lose close games.
#3 The Derek Carr situation

The Las Vegas Raiders signing Derek Carr to a $121.5 million contract extension was a mistake. Not only is that evident by Carr’s inability to move the ball, but also his touchdown-to-turnover ratio this season. These are not numbers a starting quarterback should have, which is why they ultimately chose to bench him.
Now a $121.5 million quarterback is sitting on the bench while the Raiders evaluate his backup for next season. Isn’t that just the most mind-boggling thing to think about as a Raiders fan? It is worth mentioning that they can trade him next season for a light cap hit, but they should have never made this mistake, to begin with.
Why The Raiders ultimately decided to take another chance on Carr is anyone’s guess. Maybe they actually thought the addition of Davantae Admas would help him. Or maybe they thought Josh McDaniels could act as some kind of guiding force. Neither of these turned out to be true, and now the Raiders will likely pay the price.

#2 Josh McDaniels still being the head coach
[caption id="attachment_20702" align="alignnone" width="1024"]

Why is Josh McDaniels still the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders? Raider Nation fans have been asking this question for months now and no clear answer seems to be coming. McDaniels is only 6-10 as head coach this season, has one of the worst defenses in the league, and probably one of the worst-conditioned teams too.
This all comes back to McDaniels's leadership and shows that he has learned nothing since his time as head coach of the Denver Broncos. It also shows that his time under Bill Belichick didn’t teach him anything, making him one of the biggest head coaching busts in recent memory.
#1 The defense

There seems to be nothing more frustrating right now than watching the Las Vegas Raiders defense. The Raiders have been bottom of the barrier on that side of the ball for years now, and it has cost them countless games. The worst part is that things don’t seem to be getting better no matter what changes are made.
Las Vegas Raiders fans deserve better than a 30th-ranked defense every single year. They shouldn't have to watch the team give up big play after big play, and blow a decent lead. They’re not aggressive, they don’t force enough turnovers, and always seem to choke under pressure.
