Let's start with the basics. Las Vegas is almost always busy. It's tough to find an empty casino or a star restaurant that's slightly filled; the Strip always has visitors.
Vegas is so popular among tourists that there's nothing like the off-season you might expect at beach towns or other seasonal locations. But some months are better to visit than others with smaller crowds and good deals. When planning to visit the Entertainment Capital of the World, keep this in mind.
Are you visiting on a budget and want
the cheapest way to visit Las Vegas? Then you should consider the slower times.
Ready to splurge? Come during the Spring when the weather is gorgeous, but the crowds are thick.
One thing that you must know, though, most hotel rates are cheaper from Monday through Wednesday or Thursday. Weekends are very eventful.
Slow Times
The slow times in Las Vegas occur the week before Thanksgiving and in December before Christmas. People are busy preparing for their holidays and making trip plans during these times. Money is often very tight.
Another slow time is in January after the New Year because most people have returned to their lives, and the holidays are over. During this period, you might be able to find excellent deals. But this is only if the cold doesn't bother you. Remember, we are a desert, so winters temps can drop pretty low.
Other slow months to look for deals are July and August.
Busy Times
The busiest times in Las Vegas occur during the weekends and holidays. The week between Christmas and New Year is hectic, and things may be costly. But there's lots of fun to be had.
Also, fall and early spring can be busy because the weather is very comfortable and pleasant.
If you prefer to visit the city during busy times, know there will also be conventions, and the hotels will be priced to reflect the high demand. Check whether any conventions or other big events are taking place before you book. For example, there may be
NASCAR races, the Super Bowl, or March Madness.
