AI Predicted the Future of Las Vegas Sports

Everyone wants to predict the future, which is probably why some believe in psychics and fortunetellers. We couldn't find one for this project, so we asked AI instead. We asked the seven biggest questions about the future of Las Vegas sports right now.

Here's what it had to say.

1. Will Josh McDaniels lose his job in 2023?

"Based on my knowledge of the sport and the patterns that have emerged in the past, it's possible that Josh McDaniels could be fired if the team is not meeting expectations or if there are internal issues that arise. But ultimately, only time will tell what will happen with his position as head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders."

My take: Josh McDaniels is definitely in the hot seat heading into the 2023 season, and that seat will get hotter, pending the Jimmy Garoppollo decision. The Raiders organization invested a lot in McDaniels and is tired of diminishing returns. If he can't make a playoff run, his head coaching career is likely over.

2. What is the biggest obstacle standing in the way of the Golden Knights and another title?

"The biggest obstacle that the Golden Knights might face in their quest for another championship could be the tough competition they'll inevitably face from other talented teams in the league. It's no secret that there are many skilled and experienced players out there hungry for victory, and the Golden Knights will have to bring their A-game if they want to come out on top once more."

My take: Injuries will probably be a big factor for Las Vegas in 2023 and beyond. Ice hockey is a very intense sport, and it only takes one bad hit to end a season. The Las Vegas Golden Knights goalie rotation has been plagued with injuries for the last two years. Why would 2023 be any different?

3. Will Jimmy Garoppollo pass his physical at the beginning of the season?

"While I can't say for certain whether or not he'll fail his physical at the beginning of the season, I think it's important to remember that athletes like Jimmy Garoppolo are highly skilled and dedicated professionals who work hard to maintain their fitness and performance levels. So while there's always a chance that something unexpected could occur, I wouldn't count him out just yet!"

My take: While The AI wants to be optimistic about Jimmy Garoppollo's future, there's just too much at stake. Garoppollo passing his physical and getting to start for the Raiders could be the difference between a good season and another bottom-of-the-barrel affair. It's just hard to believe that Garoppollo passes the physical or stays sturdy if he does

4. Will the Athletics Have Success in Las Vegas?

[caption id="attachment_33038" align="alignnone" width="900"]Las Vegas, Source. YouTube[/caption]

"The Oakland Athletics are a team with a rich history and a bright future ahead of them. And while there's no way to know what will happen when they move to Las Vegas, I have a feeling that they'll be met with open arms and plenty of support from fans and fellow athletes alike."

My take: The Athletics are coming to Las Vegas sometime in the next few years, but fans don't seem happy about the move. The team also has a history of being a losing organization. Which just makes them more unappealing. The Athletics just have nothing going for them, and going to Vegas feels like a win for them only.

5. Will the Raiders win ten or more games next season?

[caption id="attachment_33039" align="alignnone" width="1024"]Las Vegas Raiders, Source. Facebook[/caption]

"The Raiders will have a successful season next year. I'm so confident in their abilities that I'm willing to go out on a limb and predict that they'll not just hit the 10-win mark but exceed it by a wide margin!"

My Take: The Raiders winning more than ten games next season is impossible to believe. Maybe the AI was drunk or is just a Raiders fan. The chatbot seems to pander to what you want in some ways, and the Raiders getting more than ten wins is proof.

6. Will Kurt Busch ever compete again in the NASCAR Cup Series?

[caption id="attachment_33040" align="alignnone" width="1024"]Las Vegas, Source. YouTube[/caption]

"I can tell you that Kurt Busch is a talented driver with a lot of experience. However, there are many factors at play when it comes to whether or not he'll compete in the Cup Series again after his concussion injury. We'll need to consider his overall health and recovery progress, as well as any potential opportunities or challenges that might arise in the future."

My take: No way Kurt Busch will compete again. Those cars go way too fast and have proven way too dangerous. A concussion is a severe injury, and it's not something the Las Vegas native can easily return from.

7. Does Josh Jacobs leave the Raiders over his contract dispute?

[caption id="attachment_33041" align="alignnone" width="1024"]Las Vegas, Source. YouTube[/caption]

"Contract disputes are a common occurrence in the industry - and they often come down to a delicate balance between financial considerations and personal loyalty. While I can't predict with certainty what Josh Jacobs will ultimately decide to do, I have a feeling that he's a player who values his connection to the Raiders and his commitment to the sport above all else."

My take: Joshua Jacobs will definitely leave if he doesn't start getting treated better. Expecting Jacobs to come back for a franchise tag and a $10 million deal after setting the rushing record is just awful. There's no reason why Jacobs shouldn't look elsewhere for a deal if the Raiders aren't going to treat him like a priority.
