Las Vegas native Kurt Busch shocked the NASCAR world earlier this summer after a qualifying crash at Pocono Raceway left him with concussion-like symptoms. The former Cup Series championship has since been sidelined and undergoing concussion protocol in hopes of returning.

Busch made the announcement that he would likely miss the opening round of the playoffs a month ago, but no update has been given for his return. Denny Hamlin was asked about the ongoing matter by Racer.com, and it appears that the plan is to keep Busch in the #45. There is a backup plan though. One that seemingly involves getting Tyler Reddick getting out of his contract early.

"We still feel like Kurt’s going to run next year [and] if he doesn’t, we’ve already got contingency plans for the 45 car,” Hamlin said. “If [Reddick] was pushed to the side I think we would take him, but I don’t know that we need really get into pushing to get him early.

#4 WWE announces Logan Paul vs Roman ReignsLas Vegas,

WWE held a press conference in Las Vegas to announce that WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns would be taking on Logan Paul at Crown Jewel. That pay-per-view is set to take place in Saudi Arabia on November 5th.

While the move makes perfect sense from a publicity standpoint, it came out of nowhere.  Of course, WWE will have time between now and November 5th to properly build the feud, but what can they really do here? WWE fans would riot if Paul took the title off of Reigns and they know that.

The press conference ended with the two getting into a shoving match and having to be separated by Triple H.

Kyle Busch revealed that he is be joining Richard Childress Racing in 2023 in a huge announcement last week. The Las Vegas native was even compared to Dale Earnhardt and given the iconic #8. The news comes after months of contract talks with multiple teams. Thes talks supposedly included 23XI Racing, Kaulig Racing, Richard Childress Racing, and a possibility of staying at Joe Gibbs Racing

“I’m excited to announce that I’ll be taking my talents to Welcome, North Carolina to drive the No. 8 car for Richard Childress Racing starting in 2023,” 37-year-old Busch said during his press conference. The line was a reference to Lebron James leaving Cleveland for Miami back in the late 2000s.

While the deal is a huge gain for Chevrolet in its bid to maintain dominance in Cup, it is also a major loss for Toyota.  Busch is a guy that can turn the tide for a team.

#2 Las Vegas Raiders fall in overtime

The Las Vegas Raiders are now 0-2 after a humiliating overtime loss to the Arizona Cardinals. It all started in the fourth quarter when opposing quarterback Kyle Murray led his team down the field for a touchdown. He then followed it up with a clutch two-point conversion that sent the game into overtime. Allegiant Stadium got very quiet after that.

Things only got worse in overtime, where the Cardinals got the ball first and looked poised to win the game. Then, in what could have been a disaster for the Cardinals, a series of bad plays led to the Raiders getting the ball. This was the Raiders' opportunity for redemption but they did not capitalize on it.

In fact, The Raiders managed two turnovers during overtime, one of which sealed the game for the Cardinals. The death blow happened on a quick pass to Hunter Renfrow, who was drilled by Isiah Thomas. This caused the ball to come out, where it was picked up by Byron Murphy for a 63-yard score.

Derek Carr led the way for the Raiders, going 25 of 39 for 251 yards and two touchdowns against the Cardinals. It was a huge improvement from his two touchdown three-interception game last week against the Chargers. Josh Jacobs lead the way for the running game, racking up 69 yards in 19 attempts.

The defense made steady improvements this week and even held the Arizona Cardinals scoreless in the first half of the game. Nate Hobbs led the way with 9 tackles and two assisted tackles. One of those was a key third-down stop in overtime that gave the ball to the Raiders. The Raiders now move on to face the Tennesse Titans next week  AT Nissan Stadium. This will be a must-win game.
