This is the big one…a really huge event. AFAN’s Black & White Party is so awesome that this writer previously flew in from Florida and Oregon to attend each year. Now that I’m a member of the Las Vegas community, the significance of such a city-positive event resonates even stronger.
If 2024 will be your first Black & White Party, prepare to be wowed. And also be ready to impress. As the name implies, black and white attire is highly suggested. You might even say “mandatory”. Of course, this being Sin City, less is more, and at this particular ball, hedonism comes into play. That means “eye candy” as plentiful as the entertainment and cocktails, so feel free to be as bare as you dare.
KAOS at Palms Casino is hosting this year’s AFAN‘s gala, which will be an indoor/outdoor affair. If you haven’t been to KAOS before, the nightclub is stunning. So is its gorgeous SOAK Pool Club. The Greek-themed playground offers 73,000 square feet of luxurious space, so hardbodies can dance, splash, frolic, and flaunt. But lest we forget, the evening is dedicated to a worthy cause.

Every dollar of proceeds from the Black and White Party goes to support AFAN – Aid for AIDS of Nevada. This non-profit organization provides resources and support for those living with AIDS. It also works to reduce HIV infection through prevention and education…and to eliminate fear, prejudice, and the stigma associated with the disease.
AFAN has been helping AIDS-impacted Nevada residents since 1984. This marks the organization’s 40th year of service to the community. Generous benefactors like Wynn Resorts, iHeart Media, Walgreens, United Health Care, and the always-supportive Penn & Teller regularly sponsor AFAN and its many projects.
VEGAS 411 appreciates the opportunity to cover AFAN‘s fundraising activities. This spring our readers got soapy at the Suds and Studs Carwash (above). It was followed by the annual AIDS WALK. As much fun as these events are, nothing can match the Black and White Party for sheer unadulterated Sin City excess.
Although the dress code for Black and White Party is strictly monochromatic, you may spot a few individuals adorned in red. This is a distinctive form of recognition and respect:
“This year we are honoring a select group of outstanding individuals with the Right to Wear RED and presenting them on stage for their support and advocacy work.”
The 2024 line-up of guest performers and deejays is currently in the works. Since the 21+ gathering is decidedly “adult” in nature, much of the entertainment will skew in that direction. Guests can enjoy samples from local restaurants and vendors (to be announced), over-the-top fashions, and a few naughty surprises throughout the evening. Event sponsor Tito’s Handmade Vodka will be available at all bars.
In previous editions, the Black and White party has welcomed dozens of world-famous performers to their stage. Stars like AGT’s Daniel Emmet, Tenors of Rock, Pia Zadora, Xavier Mortimer, Miss Behave, Australia’s HUMAN NATURE, and the casts of Magic Mike Live, ROUGE, WOW, Chippendales, and SEXXY have entertained B&W guests. We’ll keep you posted on this year’s line-up when we learn more.
AFAN Black and White Party invites organizations, businesses, and entertainers to offer their talents and products. Silent auction items make terrific contributions, as do funds and volunteer efforts. You can become involved by sending an email to events@afanlv.org. or make a monetary donation by following this link.
A wide variety of ticketing options and table packages is available. General admission starts at $80 (check the AFAN Facebook page regularly for possible discount offers). Some admission levels include drink tickets and access to VIP bars. Tables, booths, bottle service, and more options are listed on the ticketing page.
AFAN Black and White Party begins at 7 pm for VIP ticketholders, and from 8 pm for general admission. The party continues until midnight. Piranha Nightclub and the adjacent Gipsy will hold the official afterparty starting at 10 pm. Admission is free for attendees with wristband, others can pre-reserve admission by heading here.
Don’t wait until it’s too late. Plan your costume and get those Black and White Party tickets now.
