Adults-only smash hit returns in a new location…Virgin Las Vegas…
“Hey, gang, let’s put on a show!”. Anyone who loves old Hollywood musicals is familiar with that scenario. Get a group of talented friends together, set them loose, and the results are always spectacular. That’s exactly what happened in March when GLITZ – THE SHOWKIDS SHOW debuted at Gipsy Nightclub on Paradise Road.
Packed with performers from some of the hottest shows in town, GLITZ was a sold-out smash. Our VEGAS 411 article, which covered the production, remained in the top ten for several weeks. This suggested that a return engagement for GLITZ was warranted.
Wyatt Hopkins and Amadeus Luevanos
Conceived by Garrett Pattiani and written/produced/choreographed by the duo of Ferly Prado and Estevan Velasco, GLITZ is a modern, no-holds-barred take on burlesque. With sizzling dance numbers, a sprinkling of vaudeville comedy, and a heaping helping of gender-blurring sensibilities, GLITZ has something for nearly every discerning adult.
Estevan Velasco and Cierra Bliss
While the original performance took place in an indoor/outdoor setting, the Vegas heat in June would make that quite impractical. So the show is being restaged for 24 OXFORD, the intimate theater at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas where Frank Marino’s DIVAS Drag & Drinks and LADY LIKE perform. GLITZ is the perfect companion for those campy revues, so it could become a regular event.
The original line-up (above) was packed with powderkeg performers from shows like ROUGE, CHIPPENDALES, ZOMBIE BURLESQUE, LE REVE, AMERICA’S GOT TALENT SUPERSTARS LIVE, and DITA LAS VEGAS. Estevan Velasco provided VEGAS 411 with the latest advertisement, which features several new, sexy performers along with returning cast members like mega-hunk Todd Hanebrink.
Another addition is the talents of PLASMA (Taylor Ratliff), a familiar face from RuPaul’s Drag Race season sixteen. Oscar Alejandro (a favorite at THE FUNK JAM) provides musical direction. “The 90-minute production celebrates LGBTQ+ history and its impact on Las Vegas entertainment and the music industry, offering an immersive, joyous tribute to gay pride.
GLITZ – The Showkids Show performs at 24 Oxford on Sunday, June 9th at 9 pm. Doors open at 8 pm. The production is for adults only. Tickets start at $27 (plus taxes/fees) and can be ordered here. VIRGIN HOTELS LAS VEGAS is located at the corner of Paradise Road and Harmon Avenue. Ample free parking is provided.
