You’re in Vegas, and you just bought an amazing joint. Now, where the hell are you going to smoke it?
You can buy enough weed to be stoned for the rest of your life, but cannabis use and possession remain illegal under federal law. It’s only allowed at the state level. In Las Vegas, this means that you can’t light up on the Las Vegas Strip or inside a casino. In fact, there are only a few places where you can legally smoke weed in Vegas.
Here’s what they are:
Inside private homes
You’re in luck if you know some locals or rented an accommodating AirBnB. You can smoke as much as you want when you’re at a home with a willing host. Enjoy your puffs, but don’t try to drive under the influence.
Lounges

In an attempt to protect the general public from the smoke while providing safe spaces to enjoy weed, Las Vegas legalized cannabis lounges. These cannabis lounges are designated spaces where people can legally consume weed. They provide a really social environment for enthusiasts and newbies.
Popular smoking lounges in the city include:
- SkyHigh Lounge at NUWU Cannabis
- Dazed! Lounge at Planet 13 Entertainment Complex
- Smoke and Mirrors
Outside, away from others (parks, nature trails, etc)
While it is generally not a good idea to smoke in public places, you may smoke outside as long as you do it alone and away from people. You can relish your high in peace at parks, nature trails, or even quiet streets. Imagine smoking a joint while gazing at the beauty of Red Rock Canyon or Valley of Fire.
The Lexi
Remember how we said you can’t smoke inside casinos or hotels? We should’ve added an asterisk to that statement. One off-Strip hotel, The Lexi, is bucking the trend. The Lexi describes itself as a cannabis-friendly hotel and has a floor equipped with a special filtration system to clear out weed smoke.
If you MUST smoke in a hotel room on the Strip or Downtown Vegas, you won’t be arrested. You will, however, face a hefty smoking charge.
Use a vape pen
It’s impossible just to roll your weed and enjoy the green as you like… but you can use a vape pen. No one can tell that your vape isn’t a tobacco vape, so you can take a hit wherever vaping is allowed, including in casinos. With a vape pen, you get discretion and a convenient high.
