The producers of Westgate’s breakout hit announce a new headliner for their Elvis tribute…

Fans of entertainer Daniel Durston were all shook up on September 17th when the Elvis tribute artist made a surprise announcement via Instagram:
The star of THE KING COMES HOME, Westgate’s breakout hit (see my review here), made it known that he would be leaving after six upcoming performances. Although a reason wasn’t specified, the singer dropped hints by closing with “Know your worth, stand up for what you believe in, and don’t do anything that doesn’t fulfill you wholeheartedly.”
Also notable is that the star gave kudos to the team at Westgate Resort and his backup singers, but neglected to mention the show’s creators and producers. This writer immediately reached out to Doug Miranda of DDM Productions. Information from the conversation was shared to VEGAS 411‘s Facebook page:

Vegas 411 has official information on the shocking departure of Daniel Durston from THE KING COMES HOME. In an exclusive conversation with Doug Miranda of DDM Productions, the producer says the separation is amicable and revolves around contract negotiations.
Originally set for a limited run at Westgate’s Cabaret, the show received an extended residency requiring new terms. Miranda emphasized that the show will continue in its current form, albeit with a new lead (or leads). He also noted that Westgate Las Vegas has been supportive throughout the process and was not involved in the contract negotiations.
As Durston’s Instagram post announced today, September 26th will be his final appearance. THE KING COMES HOME should continue its scheduled show dates without interruption.
Within a few hours, Durston countered with his own cryptic response:
“Happy to do a story with you if you’d like the inside information and why the producers decided to stop negotiations on their part. I can speak on all things starting September 27.”
This morning, I received a communication from
Guy Windsor, Entertainment Specialist for
DDM Productions. He exclusively sent a statement that will be released to other media outlets later today. It reads as follows:
When “The King Comes Home” was being conceived by Producers Doug and Jackie Miranda, the vision was to create not just a show, but instead a phenomenon inside the (as they say) “house that Elvis built.” A show about a King and his legacy, starring the best from Las Vegas and the world, an ensemble of entertainers who could recreate this magic together.
Quickly rising to #2 on Tripadvisor and receiving tremendous support from the Entertainment community and the Elvis fandom, we know that the phenomenon has begun. Seeing Elvis’ legacy shine again has truly been a dream come true for DDM Productions and Westgate.
