‘SUMMER IN THE SIXTIES’ Returns to South Point with an All-New Show

“Golden Boy” Chris Ruggiero and the Motortown All-Stars bring the sounds of Detroit’s yesteryear to Sin City.

One of our most widely-read articles of last year was SUMMER IN THE SIXTIES: Chris Ruggiero. Something about this show clicked with our readers, and by extension, live entertainment fans in general. Three shows played to a packed South Point Showroom last July, where Ruggiero, Dennis Turfano, and Bobby Miranda stopped as part of a multi-state tour.

For this year’s series, SUMMER IN THE SIXTIES gathers members of legendary groups The Miracles, The Contours, and The Temptations. Dubbed The Motortown All-Stars, this soulful quartet will join Ruggiero for three new shows at South Point Showroom, beginning July 9th.

If you’re still unfamiliar with Chris Ruggiero, let us help you from under that rock. The Florida-based singer, who’s only 24, has been “adopted” by Clint Holmes, The Bronx Wanderers’ Vinny Adinolfi, and The Righteous BrothersBucky Heard, effectually making Las Vegas his second home. You can keep up-to-date on his tour schedule by following the Official Chris Ruggiero Facebook Page.

Ruggiero has played to packed houses at NOTORIETY, Italian American Club, and an April performance at Southpoint’s Grandview Lounge. The upcoming trio of shows is sure to be a big success as well:

“Chris Ruggiero returns to Las Vegas with his show, “Summer in the Sixties,” after 3 sold-out shows last summer. He’ll be singing all of the classics for which he’s known and he’s bringing with him The Motortown All-Stars. They’ve come together to deliver all the biggest Motown hits, complete with impeccable harmonies, flashy outfits, and that dazzling choreography.”

“A live band of the finest players out of Detroit (complete with live brass) adds yet another level of excitement to those instantly-recognizable grooves.  You’ll hear all the Temptations, Four Tops, Jackson Five, Stevie Wonder, and Supremes’ hits you know and love like “My Girl”, “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg”, “Ooh Baby, Baby”, “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” and more!”

SUMMER IN THE SIXTIES performs at the South Point Showroom on July 7th, 8th, and 9th at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $35 and can be ordered online here. VEGAS 411 tip: You can avoid Ticketmaster fees by visiting the South Point Showroom in person or calling 702-7096-7111.
