‘Ski Lodge’ and ‘Golden Tiki’ deliver holiday spirit by the glassful…
Last week we told you about two annual pop-up Christmas experiences from Sand Dollar Lounge. The original on Spring Mountain (and its newer downtown location at Plaza Hotel) may be the first out of the gate, but many more are sure to follow. Here are two of this writer’s favorite holiday events.
GOLDEN TIKI LOUNGE
You can categorize the Golden Tiki Lounge as anything from a “Disney-fied Dive Bar” to a trip to Skull Island. However you choose to see it, one thing the award-winning lounge isn’t is “drab”. Situated a few blocks west of the original Sand Dollar at 3939 Spring Mountain Road, Golden Tiki LOVES to celebrate the outlandish.

This Wednesdaym=, November 22nd, the annual Charlie Brown Thanksgiving returns. Who can forget when the Peanuts gang gathered around the ping-pong table for a feast of buttered toast, pretzel sticks, jelly beans, and popcorn? One night before actual Thanksgiving, Golden Tiki‘s celebration allows adults to relive that glorious memory from their childhood…albeit a little tipsy, perhaps.
“Guests are encouraged to dress up as their favorite Charlie Brown character. Reservations via the website thegoldentiki.com/reservations are strongly recommended, but walk-ins will also be welcome per availability. The regular cocktail list and menu will be available. Must be 21 or older to attend.”
“The hand-crafted cocktail menu features nostalgic classics and new mixological creations by World Renown barman, Adam Rains, Alongside an eclectic spirits list, curated local craft beer, and a massive rum selection, the Golden Tiki’s hospitality is legendary.”
“Featuring the work of renowned artists Tiki Bosko, Billy the Crud, Bill Collins, and Oceanic Arts, the one-of-a-kind decor also boasts a unique collection of celebrity ‘shrunken heads,’ an astounding array of artifacts, and of course, Bud ‘n Al’s Oasis, the world’s only adult animatronic bird show.”
When Snoopy and Woodstock disassemble the ping-pong table and bring out the Christmas decorations. But don’t skip out on the fun. Make your reservations for November 22nd and have a great Charlie Brown Thanksgiving at Golden Tiki Lounge.
The Golden Tiki’s Beverage Director Adam Rains has also released the updated Holiday Cocktail Menu just in time for the 2023 holiday season. All six of the festive and creative concoctions will be available immediately after Thanksgiving on Friday, November 24th, and will be available through Dec. 30.

SKI LODGE SPEAKEASY at SUPERFRICO
No matter what time of the year, it’s always “ski season” at Spiegelworld’s SKI LODGE. A hidden speakeasy inside Superfrico Restaurant at Cosmopolitan, SKI LODGE is the ultimate warm-and-fuzzy place to grab a seasonal cocktail and a seat by the fireplace.
This season’s festive drink menu has been curated by Niko Novick, Spiegelworld’s Executive of Beverage, and Mauro Villalobos, their Beverage Director. Colorful, flavorful, whimsical, and satisfying, these delicious sips will keep you warm while away from the slopes.
“The jolly tipples include the Lloyd Christmas (Mezcal, Creme de Cacao, Italicus, Luxardo Bitter Bianco, Pernod Mist), the Candy Cane Lychee Margarita (Don Julio Blanco, Electric Lychee, Amaro Nonino, Fernet Jelinek), and Ski Nog (Ketel One Vodka, Montenegro, Benedictine, Diplomatico Rum, cinnamon, nutmeg).”

“Returning this year is the signature Not the Buttons (Bourbon, Sherry, Falernum, ginger, lemon, honey) which comes with fixins’ to decorate a Gingerbread cookie. These cocktails are available now through the holiday season.”
VEGAS 411 was invited last week to attend “LIFTOFF”, a kickoff to ski season hosted by SKI LODGE. We had the pleasure of sampling these wonderful libations while enjoying Christmas decorations and live entertainment. The evening was sponsored in part by Bailey’s Irish Cream. Guests indulged in “shotskis” and food from SUPERFRICO while posing for pics in their new Bailey’s logo hats.
SKI LODGE is open daily from 4 pm until late. It is located within the SUPERFRICO complex on the second floor of Cosmopolitan Hotel Casino in the Chelsea Tower.
(Insider tip – access the speakeasy during non-peak hours by entering through the unmarked door to the left of the main foyer. If locked, check in at the podium.)
