PhotoDump RoundUp Week Ending 6/7/25

What do The Docksiders, Criss Angel, an improv night, and a burger named “No Pants” have in common? They’re all part of this week’s PhotoDump RoundUp.

GREEN FAIRY GARDEN at Caesars Palace

Those yearning for the perfect burger might be surprised to find it at Spiegelworld’s GREEN FAIRY GARDEN. The outdoor playground for adults is a picnic, circus-style. Music, games, food, trees, benches, bars, a coffee cabin, cocktails, popcorn, and the best hamburgers in the city.

If you’ve been to Spiegelworld’s hit show ABSINTHE, then you’ve already visited Green Fairy Garden. You don’t need a ticket to enter, but the area is restricted to adults. It opens at 6 pm and offers amusement long after the final ticketed performance is over.

Bring your appetite and chow down on a signature NO PANTS Burger and Star Tots. Engage with colorfully clad staffers who roam the Garden. They’re full of surprises, jokes, and perhaps even the password to enter PIER 17, a hidden speakeasy modeled after a yacht club. Bring a flotation device and enjoy the ride!

PHIL KOTLER IMPROV at The Composers Room

Phil Kolter and Friends was the main attraction at the Composers Room last Wednesday night. We attended the comedy improv showcase, stopping briefly at the Composers Room Tavern before the main show. The Tavern Stage (below) presents free entertainment nightly.

The Composers Room Showlounge Stage offers larger, ticketed performances. Tony Arias, Seth Robichaux, Rose Kingsley, Kelly Clinton-Holmes, Monique Maffei Hester, Keith Thompson’s Piano Party, and several weekend brunch productions fill the schedule, which you can see here.

Food and drinks are served in both showrooms. So even if the entertainment isn’t your cup of tea, a Mushroom-Swiss Burger and chilled beverage will still make you smile. The Composers Room is located at 953 East Sahara Avenue in the Historic Commercial Center. Parking is free.

Backstage at CRISS ANGEL Mindfreak

It’s been more than a year since magician Criss Angel and I buried that hatchet and moved past our differences. Now I’m a regular visitor to MINDFREAK LIVE at Planet Hollywood Casino. And this time my guests were Jennifer Romas (EXXCITE) and Jeff Smith, frontman for the 80s band CARELESS WHISPER. Read Jeff’s VEGAS 411 profile here.

Jeff Smith and Jennifer Romas at CRISS ANGEL MINDFREAK

Despite his superstar status, Criss Angel is surprisingly personal during backstage meetups. He’ll offer you a cocktail, make phone calls to your loved ones, pose for pics, and offer hugs. You may even meet his wife and three children.

The newly refreshed MINDFREAK features a greatest-hits collection of Angel’s favorite illusions. It concludes with a heartfelt tribute to pediatric cancer patients, wonderfully woven into a deeply personal moment of vulnerability and sincerity for its star.

CRISS ANGEL MINDFREAK is far and away the most spectacular night of magic and amazement on the Strip. The show performs Wednesday through Sunday at 7 pm. Get tickets here.

THE DOCKSIDERS at Venetian’s 1923 Live

How do you come down from a MINDFREAK high? You head to Venetian’s 1923 for a cool breeze with The Docksiders. The Vegas-based yacht rock band blends fantastic musicians and three spot-on vocalists for a show that will have you singing, dancing, and begging for more.

Myself, magician Murray Sawchuck, and actor Douglas Vermeeren

The Docksiders perform Thursday through Saturday at 8:30 pm (schedule may vary seasonally). Click here for tickets.

You never know who will show up in our next PhotoDump RoundUp, so be sure to visit VEGAS 411 every Monday!
