‘LAS VEGAS BELLAS’ Set to Doo-Wop at Italian American Club

Producer Sal Cucco is back with a sizzling new showcase of talent and class…

There’s a memorable scene from 1984’s PURPLE RAIN in which singer Morris Day suggests a hot new idea to nightclub owner Billy Sparks: “Maybe what you need is a Girls Group!”. “Yeah, a Girls Group!” Sparks (playing himself) enthusiastically responds.

It’s unknown whether someone like Morris Day had the ear of producer Sal Cucco when the idea for Las Vegas Bellas was conceived. But the high-powered all-female collection of Vegas stars will take over the Italian American Club on January 29th. Pre-show buzz surrounding the premiere has been nothing short of infectious.

Before their official debut, the ladies of Las Vegas Bellas have been canvassing the city, giving audiences a delightful taste of what’s in store. They’ve sung, danced, and chatted up a storm from the Mark O’Toole Variety Show to The Dennis Bono Show and Ron Garrett’s Vegas Live Entertainment radio program.

Each of the Las Vegas Bellas is a stellar individual talent. They’ve worked with superstars, had their own productions, and performed in previous and current Las Vegas shows:

Serena Henry – sang with Smokey Robinson and Gladys Knight

Maren WadeAmerica’s Got Talent alumnus sang with Wayne Newton, toured with the Rockettes, and is the star of Lady Like at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas

Sujana Chand – Cirque du Soleil veteran currently performs in the show The King Comes Home at Westgate Las Vegas

Janien Valentine – sang with Michael Buble, Luciano Pavarotti, The Scintas, and appeared in Menopause: The Musical

Kiara Sasso – “Christine” in Phantom of the Opera and “Belle” in Beauty and the Beast

Robin Vincent (swing member) sang with Leslie Gore and is a member of Swing City Dolls

So what is in store for audiences on January 29th? A non-stop hit parade of doo-wop and Motown favorites, that’s what. Cucco says that a total of thirty-six songs will be covered, including “Please, Mr. Postman”, “My Boyfriend’s Back”, and “Why Do Fools Fall In Love?”.

Musical Director Peter Fand will lead Matt Green on piano, Jimmy McIntosh on guitar, Ryan Harrison on drums, and Eddy Sarabia on saxophone. Singer Janien Valentine also handles choreography for Las Vegas Bellas.

“Where else can you get numerous beautiful superstar singers all in one show? Italian American Club for the Las Vegas Bellas premiere. If you love Sal Cucco‘s The Fourmers, you’re in for a real treat. Las Vegas Bellas features Maren Wade, Serena Henry, Sujana Chand, Kiara Sasso, Robin Vincent, and me!
