FALL HARVEST: One Night Stands

Prepare for a bumper crop of single-performance concerts this autumn…

It’s time to present a fall cornucopia of exciting entertainment. The coming weeks will offer a bountiful harvest of single-performance shows, aka One Night Stands.

SHIELA WRIGHT – Entertainer extraordinaire Shiela Wright brings music, laughter, and powerful vocals to BENT Lounge, The Composers Room, and many other venues throughout the city. Catch Shiela on Saturday, September 14th at PHOENIX Bar and Lounge. Free show, great food, and drink specials galore.

The Phoenix is located at 4213 W. Sahara Avenue, a short distance from PALACE STATION CASINO. Parking is free.

Christina Balonek, you have some explaining to do. Why is dignified showman Kenny Davidsen covered in pasta? Apparently, it’s part of the mayhem at GUYS AND DOLL Presents: The Love Cycle.

Ms. Balonek, known to Tape Face fans by her alter ego “Phyllis Vanillis”, is a gifted singer and nuclear-powered entertainer. You can discover for yourself when MAXAN JAZZ welcomes Christina and Davidsen, along with Brandon Turchiano, Dennis Blair, and Joe Calitri.

Billed as “One-Night-Only Comedy Jazz”, the free show will perform on Thursday, September 19th beginning at 7 pm. Reservations are recommended, and a $25 food/beverage minimum (per person) will be in place. MAXAN JAZZ is located at 4130 S. Decatur Blvd. Call 702-485-3926 or visit www.maxanjazz.com.

“Join us for an enchanting evening of love and romance, as “OVERTURE D’AMORE” takes you on a multilingual journey to celebrate amour!”

Italian songbird Nelia Ross will bring “OVERTURE d’AMORE”: a Multilingual LOVE Affair to W. Charleston Library Theater on Saturday, September 21st. Tickets are $20 and can be ordered here.

Ms. Ross has been quite busy with interviews, podcasts, and recording sessions. We hear she’s collaborating with record producer Stevie Dunham, who’s also working with Star Search alumnus Dana Daye.

RECKLESS IN VEGAS – Pity poor Michael Shapiro. A consummate entertainer with rabid fans, outrageous looks, endless ambition, and a deep vein of philanthropy, the frontman for RECKLESS IN VEGAS has suffered through an exciting year of accomplishments (we jest, of course).

NOTORIETY will host its final 2024 performance of RECKLESS: Unplugged on September 21st. Frequent guest Kelly Clinton-Holmes will join an unforgettable night of vintage classics, rebooted. Tickets here.

On October 19th, the “full throttle” version of RECKLESS IN VEGAS returns to Aliante Casino’s ACCESS SHOWROOM (get seats here). This evening is especially noteworthy, as it marks ten years of performances as a band.

The evening’s special guest will be Stephanie Calvert. As always, RECKLESS IN VEGAS gives back to the community through Ante Up Collective, a partnership that distributes a portion of ticket sales to charity.

The wonderful Niki Scalera has performed with RECKLESS IN VEGAS many times, and now she’s back to salute Dame Shirley Bassey. DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER delivers hits from the James Bond series’ most powerful vocalist.

Ms. Scalera is known to Vegas audiences through COCKTAIL CABARET and WE WILL ROCK YOU. She’s also been featured in Broadway musicals like Disney’s TARZAN and HAIRSPRAY. Longtime musical partner Keith Thompson (Composer’s Showcase) and Scalera will bring this tour de force to Myron’s Cabaret on September 27th. Get tickets here.

CLINT HOLMES – Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Clint Holmes presents ICONS REIMAGINED at Myron’s Cabaret on October 2nd. Join the singer/songwriter as he performs renditions of songs by iconic artists from movies and Broadway shows.

Clint promises flair and finesse when reimagining popular music in his signature style. The showtime for ICONS REIMAGINED is 7 pm. Tickets start at $39 and can be reserved here.

CONCERT FOR THE CRITTERS – Benefitting Nevada SPCA

Everyone loves a charity-driven show, and NOTORIETY has one for the animals:

Award-winning Las Vegas headliners pay tribute to the iconic music that continues to make Las Vegas the Entertainment Capital of the World. The show is a benefit for the Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. The production will include a 10-piece orchestra and special guests.

The 16-and-up event takes place on Sunday, October 6th at 3 pm. Guests include Kelly Vohnn and Chase Brown. Tickets start at $25 and can be ordered here.

CHADWICK JOHNSON – Chadwick Johnson returns to Myron’s Cabaret at Smith Center with his new show What The World Needs Now. It features music from two legendary songwriters: Burt Bacharach and Quincy Jones. Discover the stories behind the songs as Chadwick invites you on a journey to explore the timeless music of these two icons.

CHADWICK JOHNSON – What The World Needs Now performs on Tuesday, October 8th at 7 pm. Tickets start at $29 and can be ordered here.

CHRISTINE SHEBECK – There’s no need to wait for Celine Dion’s return. Las Vegas has Christine Shebeck, one of the greatest singers of her generation. This is no hyperbole. If you’ve had the privilege of enjoying Ms. Shebeck in concert, you know.

SOUL SERENADE: An Intimate Night of Music is Christine at her most sultry. Frequent collaborator Bill Zappia and percussionist Pepe Jimenez will join her for songs of love, loss, and renewal. Myron’s Cabaret is the location, and the date is October 29th at 7 pm. Tickets start at $29 and can be reserved through this link.

VEGAS 411 hears that the Las Vegas resident is ramping up her career with new representation and big things are ahead. Experience this amazing lady now before the world swoops her up.
