“Get Your Teach On” Conference celebrates educators with show-stopping performances…
What in the world is Get Your Teach On? Lucky for you, school’s back in session, boys and girls. Today we learn about GYTO and what to expect when this gathering returns to Las Vegas.
‘GET YOUR TEACH ON Las Vegas’ is a three-day research-driven conference for educators. It’s designed to transform teaching and inspire students, an all-access pass to creating magic in schools and classrooms. GYTO is not just a professional development conference, but an educational EXPERIENCE.
Expect community-building, fun, photo-ops, and the annual Sneaker Ball party. The experience is open to teachers and administrators for TK/Kindergarten through sixth grade. The event takes place January 18th through the 20th at Westgate Las Vegas.
Spearheaded by CEO Hope King and COO Wade King, Get Your Teach On is a movement that aims to invigorate and improve our nation’s education system. A series of conferences put teachers “back into the classroom” as students, albeit in a fun-filled environment. The most passionate, respected, and influential educators share methods to increase student engagement and the desire to learn, thereby amping academic rigor.
“One of the greatest influences that we have on students in today’s classrooms is the way that we make them FEEL about education. This is something that will forever shape their future as a learner. It’s time to stretch yourself, push the limits, and step outside of your comfort zone as you work to take your ordinary content and make it extraordinary for your students.” – Get Your Teach On
This year’s GYTO Las Vegas will fill three days with speeches by keynote guests, workshops, presentations, and strategies. Registered attendees receive a certificate that applies fifteen hours to their professional development credits. And since the event takes place over the MLK Jr. holiday weekend, there’s no need to arrange classroom substitutes back home.
For many, the highlight of the conference is the annual Sneaker Ball. It’s an opportunity for everyone in attendance to let their hair down and relive the excitement of a high school dance. And since this one is held in Las Vegas, a slate of popular entertainers takes the stage to make it star-filled and glitzy.
On Sunday the 19th at 5;30 pm, get ready to dance with singers from the boyband era. Chris Kirkpatrick of NSYNC will join 98 Degrees and O-Town for nonstop dance hits and heart-tugging ballads. Comedian Eddie B. will bring laughter, with Hope and Wade King as hosts for the evening.
98 Degrees founding member and Las Vegas resident Jeff Timmons shared his excitement about the upcoming appearance with VEGAS 411:
“I’m thrilled and honored to be a part of the GYTO conference. It’s so exciting to be performing for such a wonderful group of selfless individuals responsible for shaping the future of our children.”
