Jay Nagle and Winchester Theater present the latest spookfest of the season…
Halloween season is finally here! Those lucky enough to be in Las Vegas this month have plenty to see and do. Numerous attractions, Halloween-themed parties, haunted houses, and pop-up events spread throughout the city, and the local theater scene has gone horror-wild.
Vegas Theater Company has unleashed THE HOUSE ON WATCH HILL (read the Vegas 411 article here). Majestic Repertory Theater is boasting the return of SCREAM’D: An Unauthorized Musical Parody. Now Jay Nagle (Slammer – The Prison Girl Musical) and the Winchester Theater at Winchester Dondero Cultural Center are presenting DRACULA-LA-LA….a comedy musical with “bite”.
We first told you about DRACULA-LA-LA in early August, when the production was sharpening its fangs for a charity blood drive. The event took place on September 11th at Winchester Dondero Cultural Center and was a bloody success. Cast members appeared in costume, hearse at the ready, encouraging donations while promoting their upcoming show.
Now that his supply has been replenished, the Prince of Darkness and his Ghoulettes have moved on to the task at hand…presenting their musical comedy for appreciative audiences. Jay Nagle provided this background to Vegas 411:
The creators of Dracula-La-La: A Musical with Bite are Jay Nagle and Dwayne Parks. Dracula-La-La made its debut with a staged reading in 1991. Full productions followed in 1992, 1996, and 1997, with Indianapolis productions mounted in 1999 and 2001. In 2001, the show garnered four Encore Association awards, including “Best New Original Musical”. Throughout the years, Dracula-La-La has developed a cult following.
DRACULA-LA-LA performs for one weekend only…Friday, October 4th at 7 pm, Saturday the 5th at 2 pm and 6 pm. Tickets are only $20 and can be reserved by calling 702.455.7340. Winchester Theater at Winchester Dondero Cultural Center is located at 3130 McCleod Drive. Get directions by heading here.
