Celebrate 25 Years of ‘DENNIS BONO SHOW’

South Point’s nostalgic variety program reaches an astounding landmark…

It’s a bird. It’s a plane. It’s…Dennis Bono! Sin City’s marathon man of daytime variety shows hits a landmark twenty-five years this week, and it’s sure to be a grand celebration.

THE DENNIS BONO SHOW is a live, authentic throwback to the talk shows of the 60s and 70s. Bono opens with a song, delivers a monologue, shares comedic banter with the audience, then welcomes his studio guests. It’s a tried-and-true formula that wonderfully served Merv Griffin and Mike Douglas for decades.

Recording artist Dennis Bono might not be a household name to the casual Vegas visitor, but he’s been entrenched in the city’s entertainment community for decades. Bono’s list of accomplishments is enviable, as is his ability to engage an audience with rapport and edgy, timely humor.

He frequently laughs about his more off-color remarks being edited from the show before being broadcast weekly to almost 200 radio outlets. So if you ever wondered what took place between commercial breaks during the Johnny Carson days, grab a cocktail and brace yourself for some non-PC shenanigans.

The success of The Dennis Bono Show format relies heavily on the talents and appeal of his guests. The host and his sidekick Corrie Sachs create a warm, casual environment that attracts performers of every level, from well-known celebs to Strip mainstays. Bono becomes especially excited when welcoming gifted new entertainers to the scene or sharing the South Point Showroom for an upcoming stint.

“For a quarter century, it has been my honor to give Las Vegas’ talented roster of performing artists a platform to share their gifts with the world,” Bono says. “The entertainment landscape on the Strip may have evolved away from the intimate lounge acts that dominated it in decades past, but the caliber of the performers here remains second to none. With The Dennis Bono Show, we are able not only to introduce established and up-and-coming artists to a global audience but also support their current efforts and even drive ticket sales to their performances.”

The Dennis Bono Show is recorded live every Thursday at 2pm for broadcasting as a weekly radio show. It airs  Sundays in Las Vegas on KXNT 840 AM at 3 p.m. and KJUL 104.7 FM at 9 p.m. and—starting Feb. 16—will air on UNLV’s KUNV 91.5 FM at 11 a.m. It reaches millions of listeners via the CRN1 radio network on Saturdays at noon, Sundays at 12 a.m., 1 a.m., and 3 p.m., and Mondays at midnight. (Pacific Standard Time). It can also be found on the Armed Forces Radio Network.

The February 6th 25th Anniversary Show is already sold out. But you can plan for future performances by heading here. Seats start at only $10. You can avoid Ticketmaster fees by visiting the South Point Casino Box Office in person or purchasing by phone at 702.797.8055.
