‘Broadway to Carnegie Hall’ show to benefit H.A.V. Horse Rehab and Therapy…
Earlier this year, the stunning Alice Whitfield took the stage at Myron’s of Smith Center. The event was Keith Thompson’s monthly The Composers Showcase, and Ms. Whitfield gave a memorable performance of an original song.
The yellow-haired entertainer and animal activist was there not only to sing, but to bring attention to her passion project – Hearts Alive Village Horse Rehab and Therapy Center.
HAV Rehab and Therapy Center will be the latest offshoot of Hearts Alive Village, joining its affordable veterinary clinic and the ranch-based Hearts Alive Village Horse Rescue. Alice Whitfield is the CEO of HAV Horse Rescue, and her husband, David Hammer, is its CFO.
The 501(c)(3) organization provides permanent sanctuary, training, and adoption possibilities for abandoned, abused, and homeless horses and goats.

HAV Horse Rehab and Therapy Center will be constructed off Interstate 95 at Kyle Canyon. The facility is to be equipped with a 24/7 staff, underwater treadmills, hot walkers, laser and light therapy, and much more. A first for our area, the Center will provide post-surgery and other medical rehabilitation services without requiring difficult out-of-the-area transportation.
Ms. Whitfield and her horse rescue efforts were featured last year in a NEWS 3 Las Vegas report entitled “From Broadway to the Barn.” The longtime performer discussed her decision to leave the stage and eventually focus on animals. During the ensuing years, the eighty-plus-year-old author and Associate Professor enjoyed a wildly varied career, much of it focused on voiceover artistry.
