“Ahern Live” blossoms from “hidden gem” to “must-visit” showroom…
Two summers ago, VEGAS 411 introduced you to Ahern Luxury Boutique Hotel. In the article, I referred to the in-transition former Lucky Dragon as “almost ready to roar”. You can read that informative piece right here. Within two years, Ahern Hotel has gone from “sleepy little lion” to “howling at the moon”.
Located two blocks west of Las Vegas Boulevard on Sahara Avenue, the Ahern has made nonstop improvements. Its owner and operations team have transformed the mostly-overlooked property into an absolute delight. In addition to being a meticulously kept hotel and events center, the rose-colored complex has added several venues:
- OTTIMO Gourmet Kitchen and Pizzeria
- JOEL’S CHOPHOUSE Fine Dining
- VITA BELLA Wine Bar & Social Club
- AHERN CHOCOLATE SHOP & Custom Cakes

AHERN-LIVE! Showroom
Of course, this being the City of Entertainment, I’m quite excited about the success of the AHERN-LIVE! Showroom. As with most things at the hotel, the Ahern-Live! showroom was rolled out quietly. Masters of Illusions star Lorenzo Clark spearheaded last summer’s launch with Comedy All-Stars, which includes stand-up comedians, magic, and illusion. Most evenings are followed by ever-popular karaoke.
Like Joel’s Chophouse, the Ahern-Live! Showroom features dazzling views of the Las Vegas Strip through panoramic windows. It features a full bar, food, and snacks from the hotel’s restaurants, state-of-the-art sound, and amazing electronic effects.
AHERN LIVE‘s showpiece is a high-tech video entrance. This tunnel-like corridor can be programmed to simulate any scenario from red-carpet paparazzi and patriotic fireworks to an under-the-ocean aquatic fantasy.
Kathleen Dunbar (Cirque du Soleil’s MAD APPLE) was one of Clark’s first guest performers, with new and national names blended into the mix. Jimmie ‘JJ’ Walker of the sitcom GOOD TIMES has been a semi-regular headliner, drawing big crowds to every performance.
Comedy All-Stars has since been rebranded as A-Stars Comedy Show. Hosted by Clark, the showcase for laughs is celebrating one year with some exciting events and guests. Here’s the official announcement:
“A-STARS COMEDY SHOW; The Best of TV’s Stand-Up, Magic & Variety” plays every Thursday, Friday and Saturday Night typically with one show at 8 pm, but on MAY 30, 31 & June 1st, AHERN-Live! is adding an extra show at 6 pm.
The 6 pm A-Stars Comedy Show will feature Rich Little as the Headliner. The 8 pm Headliner will be Victoria Jackson – Two different shows with a continuous celebration in the Vita Bella Wine Bar, adjacent to AHERN-Live! from 5 pm to 11 pm complete with RED CARPET and Paparazzi.

In addition to the above entertainment offerings, Ahern-Live! has just opened its first resident production. KING OF DIAMONDS, the Neil Diamond tribute show formerly at Alexis Park Resort, stars Rob Garrett. With all-live vocals and a three-piece band, KING OF DIAMONDS has audiences on their feet and singing along. It plays Sunday through Wednesday at 8 pm. The show is suitable for all ages.
Now that it’s celebrating one full year, AHERN-LIVE! is proud to offer live entertainment seven nights a week. Select afternoons feature additional shows, including the upcoming PLATFORMS & BELLBOTTOMS featuring Traysee Jill and Matt Mitchell (tickets available here).
Tickets for all regularly-scheduled AHERN-LIVE! shows can be purchased by heading to Ticket Kite right here. For information on special events, dining, live entertainment, and room reservations, head to the Ahern Luxury Boutique Hotel website by clicking here.
