Last year’s VEGAS THEATRE COMPANY shocker is back with a sexy partner in crime…
Last fall, VEGAS 411 attended a performance of ABANDON, the shocking Marquis de Sade-inspired production by VEGAS THEATRE COMPANY. The show was so disturbing that this writer recruited guest critic Daavid Hawkins to pen our review.
After being extended beyond the Halloween season, ABANDON remained so talked-about that it’s back for another two months. And this time, it’s joined by CLUElesque, a naughty take on the board game and movie CLUE.
ABANDON is directed by Jana Wimer (Urban Death) with an original score by Joseph Bishara (The Conjuring, Insidious), and sound design by Katie Halliday (Stranger Things). Limited to audiences aged seventeen and over, the show comes with warnings of violence, grisly images, some nudity, and strong sexual themes.
ABANDON pushes the boundaries of live theater while taking audiences on a terrifying journey through the life and writings of the Marquis de Sade during his years spent imprisoned in an asylum.
Delivered in rapid-fire, wordless vignettes and enhanced by an original, killer soundtrack and terrifying visual effects, ABANDON is a truly unique theatrical experience, where psychological terror, grotesque beauty, and edgy kink collide to create a horror production like no other.
ABANDON performs through July 28th. Click here for dates, showtimes, and tickets.
CLUElesque returns after a successful run at VEGAS THEATRE COMPANY in January. The comedic adult romp was created by Spiegelworld and Puppetry of the Penis alumnus Simone (pictured above in hat). CLUElesque promises “a night of laughter and edge-of-your-seat suspense as it seamlessly transitions between farce, burlesque, and musical parody. The production features live music from a four-piece band and showcases the extraordinary talents of Vegas’ best performers in this ensemble tour-de-force.”
Inspired by the 1985 film CLUE (which in turn was based on the popular board game), CLUElesque weaves bawdy antics into a mansion-set whodunit. It’s written and co-directed by Simone along with artistic director Daz Weller. MAD APPLE‘s Isaac Tubb provides music direction, with costumes by Asia Milburn and Jason Bennett.
CLUElesque performs through July 26th. Click here for dates, showtimes, and tickets.
