Track #4: Loaded Empanadas @Boca Park

Peace, love, and empanadas.  (Image: Vegas 411)

So many empanadas, so little time, right? You’ve got to dive in somewhere, so head to the highly recommended spots Loaded EmpanadasFugazetta, and Rincon de Buenos Aires for these half-moon-shaped doughy delights. Plus, there are many more places that folks are buzzing about (that I haven’t tried yet) including Empanada Factory and Made In Argentina.

Loaded Empanadas at Boca Park in the Summerlin area is my local go-to place for gourmet Argentinian empanadas as well as Spanish tapas and sangrias. The setting at this moderately priced two-level restaurant is stylish, the vibe is warm and relaxed, and the waitstaff aims to please.

Three tiers of utter deliciousness. (Image: Vegas 411)

Their mighty fine-tasting empanadas—fried, baked, and gluten-free—arrive to the table on a circular three-tiered stand (presentation always matters). I’m partial to “The Cubano” (with pork, ham, pickle, and white cheddar), the “Passion Chicken” (with mango salsa and passion fruit sauce), and the so-named showstopper “Tha Classic” (with ground beef, pepper, onion, and olives).

If you’re looking for an alternative to “Taco Tuesday,” mark your calendar for  “Tapas Tuesday” 4-9pm (buy 2 tapas, get one free—dine in or take out). It’s nice to know that the owners are passionate about sharing their culinary smarts with the community, offering a “Master Empanada Class” on the fourth Friday of every month.
