Relive Great Daytime Talk-Fests of the 70s at ‘THE DENNIS BONO SHOW’

Weekly live production at South Point harkens back to the days of Merv Griffin and Mike Douglas.

Vegas 411 recently shared Sin City’s biggest secret, which happens to be the rose-colored Ahern Hotel at 300 W. Sahara Avenue. Now we’re pleased to tip you off to the best live entertainment bargain in all of Las Vegas. For only $5 each, you and your friends can attend The Dennis Bono Show. It’s a wonderful throwback to the daytime variety/talk programs that so many of us watched after school during the seventies. Whether you’re a visitor or a resident, The Dennis Bono Show is one hour of “television” that you don’t want to miss.

Recording artist Dennis Bono might not be a household name to the casual Vegas visitor, but he’s been entrenched in the city’s entertainment community for decades. Bono’s list of accomplishments is enviable, as is his ability to engage a live audience with rapport and edgy humor. He frequently laughs about his more off-color remarks being edited from the show before being broadcast weekly to almost 200 radio outlets. So if you ever wondered what went on between commercial breaks during the Johnny Carson days or on the Merv Griffin Show, grab a cocktail and brace yourself for some non-PC shenanigans.

The success of The Dennis Bono Show format relies heavily on the talents and appeal of his guests. The host and his sidekick Corrie Sachs create a warm, casual environment that attracts performers of every level, from well-known celebs to Strip mainstays. Bono becomes especially excited when welcoming gifted entertainers who are new to the scene or sharing his showroom for an upcoming stint. A recent performance by singer E’Stefano DiSanto (Legends In Concert, The Stirling Club) brought down the house and no doubt upped his visibility in the show business community.

Along with Sachs, regular attendees have become familiar with Bono’s cronies Vinny Adinolfi (The Bronx Wanderers), Zowie Bowie, and Frankie Scinta. The quartet has dubbed itself “The Bored”, sharing anecdotes, laughs, and a few songs. Vegas favorites like glamorous Kelly Vohnn, studly Jonathan Karrant, stunning Chadwick Johnson, and the legendary Clint Holmes share the spotlight with newer faces like Chris Ruggiero.

It would appear that even international performers consider Bono’s weekly program to be career-high. Scottish crooner Frank McDougall aka “Frankie Mack” is currently canvassing the Las Vegas valley in hopes of landing his own residency, In the meantime, the ambitious young gentleman has set his sights on landing a seat on the Bono panel someday. That’s proof of the power of The Dennis Bono Show‘s influence.
