How bad will the Las Vegas Raiders be in 2021?
While none of the NFL’s 32 teams have played a down of regular season football yet, everyone seems to have the Raiders pegged as the biggest losers of the 2021-2022 season. In fact, according to Fanduel.com’s AFC West odds, the Las Vegas Raiders are projected to finish last in their division! Furthermore, they are also projected at over/under six wins, which shows just how little faith oddsmakers have in this unit.
What’s going on? The Raiders went 4-2 in their divisional matchups last year, including a victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. They also notched wins over the Denver Broncos and the Los Angeles Chargers, making the oddsmaker’s decision a little confusing. Do they really think the Raiders are that bad or do they think the other teams have improved?
Going to the official odds provided by Fanduel.com, Kansas City is listed with the best odds to win the division with -270, followed by the Los Angeles Chargers at +490 and the Denver Broncos at +700. The Raiders sit in dead last with +1300 odds of winning their division. Their chances of making it to the big game are hefty +7500.

The weirdest part is that oddsmakers have the Denver Broncos and the Los Angeles Chargers ahead in odds and win totals. These are teams the Raiders managed to defeat last year!
Honestly, why does everyone think the Raiders are going to get worse this season? They made the needed changes on defense, and beyond that, this is an offense headed by Derek Carr, Joshua Jacobs, and Kenyan Drake. They’re bound to make some noise in 2021. It’s almost like oddsmakers see none of this.
The Las Vegas Raiders deserve more credit than this. They have Derek Carr, Joshua Jacobs, Kenyan Drake, Darren Wallner, Hunter Renfrow, and many other guys that will elevate this offense. They also have rising stars on the other side of the ball, like Alex Leatherwood and Trevon Moehring, who could be game-changers on defense. How far they go is anyone’s guess, but to have them at last in their division is just a disgrace.
