Love Island Comes to Vegas

Love Island season 2 filming in Las Vegas

The second season of Love Island USA will air later this summer on CBS. But it will be filmed in a new location. The producers of Love Island will shoot the delayed season 2 inside Caesars-owned hotel, Cromwell, in Las Vegas. They filmed the first season of the show in a luxurious villa in Fiji. Las Vegas is a better location than Fiji because crew members can avoid risky air travel.

The first season of Love Island, produced by CBS and ITV Entertainment, brought together a group of sexy singles (Islanders)mingling in an exotic island. Every few days, the Islanders paired up to carry out challenges. The winning couple walked away with a cash prize of $100,000.

We were all patiently waiting for more crazy drama in season 2, which was set to air May 21st, 2020, but it was postponed because of the coronavirus outbreak. Currently, the pre-production is on-going at the Cromwell Hotel, which has been shut down since March 2020. The crew has the whole hotel to themselves. However, sanitization and social distancing will still be enforced to ensure everyone’s well-being.

The Love Island production follows in the footsteps of other shows like The Bold and the Beautiful, Big Brother and The Bachelorette, which were the first series to return to set amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
