What would you do without Vegas 411 to keep you informed? Well, you might head to the wrong theater when revisiting a familiar show! Unless your selections are performed inside a custom-built venue, it’s quite possible that one or more may have moved since your last visit.
Earlier this year, Elvis tribute ALL SHOOK UP left Planet Hollywood’s V Theater for a new home at Alexis Park Resort. That jump-started a domino effect that is still in the making. So let’s get you caught up with the latest news in the “Summer Show Shuffle”, beginning with Alexis Park Resort and its newly-revamped showrooms.
Athena Show Lounge at Alexis Park Resort

You might not be familiar with Alexis Park Resort, but you should be. The all-suite destination is located directly across from Virgin Hotels Las Vegas at 375 E. Harmon Avenue. Last week, Alexis Park debuted the Athena, a posh “show lounge” designed to emulate the atmosphere of an ultra-lounge while providing a traditional showroom format.

ALL MOTOWN
Athena Show Lounge‘s lush seating, VIP booths, and hand-crafted wall coverings are highlighted by gorgeous glass chandelier orbs and a custom sound/lighting system. They debuted last week to great effect for resident production ALL MOTOWN, a female-centric take on soulful classics. All MOTOWN relocated to the Athena from Pegasus Showroom, also part of the Alexis Park entertainment portfolio.
Now in its second year. ALL MOTOWN takes to the stage every Thursday through Monday. Seats are $53 and up and can be reserved here. The musical production is suitable for all ages.
JOKESTERS COMEDY CLUB

The addition of a second space means more resident productions at Alexis Park. Currently home to Late Night Magic, BurlesQ, and The BIG little Variety Show, the resort has added a trio of new titles to the roster:
After a hiatus, JOKESTERS Comedy Club returns on May 19th. According to their press materials, “Jokesters is proud to feature some of the most hysterical national touring comedians along with our rotating cast of resident headliners as well as showcasing some of the best local up and coming comedians in Las Vegas.”
JOKESTERS Comedy Club is hosted by Don Barnhart and will bring on the laughter nightly beginning at 8 pm. Tickets start at $35 (plus taxes/fees) and are available here.
SEX N’ THE CITY MUSICAL PARODY

Sex and the City spawned a sequel series last year, and the time is ripe to skewer all things “Carrie Bradshaw”. Starting May 28th, SEX N’THE CITY PARODY will play Thursday through Sunday at 9 pm. Also at Alexis Park, the “super unauthorized” musical spoof promises bottomless champagne to all ticket buyers. Seats are priced from $55 (plus taxes/fees) and can be reserved here. The show is intended for adult audiences.
WONDERLAND

The final new addition to Alexis Park is the all-ages WONDERLAND. Listed on social media pages as WONDERLAND VEGAS, the multi-media presentation features elaborate puppetry and live performances by Derek Lux and Laura White Lux, creators of DLUX Puppets. After an extended run at The Space, WONDERLAND will perform Friday through Monday at 5 pm. Tickets are priced at $38 and up. The musical comedy launches on May 28th.
In Part 2 of “Summer Show Shuffle,” we’ll check out some surprising new locations for established favorites including AUSSIE HEAT and Kyle Martin’s PIANO MAN. Click HERE to continue.
