Las Vegas Magician Named 2021 Magician of the Year

Douglas LEFTY Leferovich from Late Night MAGIC will be honored as the 2021 Magician of the Year at the 112th annual Salute to Magic show

Love magic?

You can watch a FREE virtual show featuring some of the most talented magicians in Sin City. On Tuesday, June 22, Douglas Lefty Leferovich from Late Night MAGIC will be honored as the 2021 Magician of the Year at the 112th annual Salute to Magic show. The prestigious award is granted by the Society of American Magicians Parent Assembly #1 of New York City, the country s oldest and largest magic club.

“This is truly an honor and a highlight of my life,” Lefty says.  “Having been a member of PA #1 for 31 years, I can t really remember a time that I wasn t part of the Assembly.  Even before I was old enough to become a member, I remember going into New York City with my dad, mom, and brother and going to the month magic club meetings.

You might recognize Lefty from Late Night MAGIC, the hit show currently playing at Alexis Park Resort Friday through Sunday nights. Or, you may have seen him performing on the Strip or on the TV show Masters of Illusion.

I think back to all the Salute to Magic shows that I saw, including, of course, the 1985 show my dad produced (along with Jerry Oppenheimer and Bill Andrews) getting Le Grand David and his own Spectacular Company to bring their entire cast and crew from Beverly, Massachusetts to NYC for one night! reminisces Lefty.

And now I get to add my name to the list of some of the greatest magicians of our time receiving this Magician of the Year Award from PA #1. I need to pinch myself that it is real!

Salute to Magic

This is the first time in the Salute to Magic show s 112-year history that it s not taking place in New York City. Instead, it s a free, virtual event, so all you need is an internet connection to watch!

The show will kick off with a video from Mr. Las Vegas himself, Wayne Newton. Next, Lefty will team up with Murray The Magician to perform signature pieces from Murray s hit Las Vegas Strip show. You ll see Lefty s card manipulation routine and his floating microphone illusion.

When it s time for Lefty to be honored as the 2021 Magician of the Year, he ll be presented with a plaque and a 3D custom art piece by the 1st Vice President of the Society of American Magicians Parent Assembly #1, Sterling Lee.

You ll be able to watch a video compilation of famous friends congratulating LEFTY.  Congratulation videos include HGTV s The Property Brothers (Jonathan and Drew), rock n roll legend Alice Cooper, from History Channel s hit TV show Pawn Stars, Rick Harrison, the longest-running headliner on the Vegas Strip Frank Marino, music icon Neil Sedaka, Luxor headliner Carrot Top, and from magicians Tommy Wind, Jen Kramer, Philip Blue, Santiago Michel, David Goldrake, and Steve Wyrick.

For the next part of the show, Lefty takes over hosting duties and the cast of Late Night MAGIC gets to shine. They ll perform some of their most mesmerizing and unique tricks. This is a magic lover s dream show!
