How to Play Baccarat

You don’t need to be a pro to win at Baccarat

Baccarat is an easy casino game to learn.  It doesn’t take a pro to do well at this game. There are several ways to play smart and increase your chances of winning way before the dealer deals the cards. In Baccarat, with a bit of practice, it’s easy to advance from beginner to intermediary and pro levels quickly.

The Two Hands

There are two hands involved in the game: the Banker’s Hand and the Player’s Hand. The dealer then uses six to eight decks of cards. He or she will put two cards on the table, and different cards have different values or points. If a card has two digits, then only the second digit is considered, and points are determined accordingly. Any face card or tens count as zero points. For all others, the card’s value is as it appears on the card. The total of the cards on the table determines who wins, which is the person with the most points.

The Natural Win

There is also another lucky way to win at this game, known as a natural win. If the dealer deals two cards and the total comes to either eight or nine, it is considered a natural win irrespective of how many points the opponent has. In case of such a win, the dealer will not deal again. The bets placed for the game are cashed out at this point.

If there is no natural win, the next step would be introducing one more card because the player has a cumulative total of six or seven but requires one more. If the player does not need an extra card, the Banker with a total of six or seven will need to draw a card with five points maximum.

It is also possible to strike a tie between the player and the Banker. This happens if both parties end up having an equal number of points. It is not considered a win or a loss, and in case there were any bets on a tie score, then this is cashed out. However, a tie in the game is quite rare.

If placing a bet on a game of Baccarat, it is advisable to bet on the Banker. The simple explanation is that the Banker has a greater house advantage and is more likely to win. It is a basic rule that applies whether you are a high roller or new to the game.
