Change is whipping through the Strip, and it looks like the Luxor will the next casualty. Rumors are swirling about the casino s future.
The famed pyramid has been around since 1993. When you think about the Vegas skyline, you think about the Luxor. So, why is MGM Resorts thinking about shutting it down?
It probably comes down to the theme. Look at MGM s decisions over the past few years and you ll see that the company is abandoning its kitschy themed resorts. The Monte Carlo rose from the ashes as Park MGM. The MGM Grand s Wizard of OZ roots are practically gone.
Before you get too worried, remember that this is just gossip right now. MGM hasn t released an official word about its plan.
