Three titans of country rock arrive on the Strip this week, and you can see them for free. Donate blood to VITALANT Non-Profit Blood Services between now and the show date and you’ll receive two tickets to attend “Life In Ink”, a one-night concert featuring ABOUT KINGS, LONESTAR, and Tyler Rich. The show takes place this Wednesday, October 27th at 6 pm at Mosaic on the Strip.
ABOUT KINGS
ABOUT KINGS is spearheaded by Mario Barth, world-famous tattoo artist to the stars. Barth performs lead vocals and guitar, with fellow famed tattoo artist Bob Tyrell on rhythm guitar, Alen Brentini on lead guitar/vocals, Kevin Ogburn on bass, and Shane Hoskins driving drums. The group, which hails from Austria, is fresh from recording their new 14-track album in Nashville. It was produced by Grammy & Oscar-nominated Music Producer & songwriter/musician Kent Wells (Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire, Travis Tritt, Carly Pearce, The Whites, Linda Davis), and recorded at Sound Stage Studios and Dark Horse Recording.
LONESTAR
American country band LONESTAR was formed in 1992. The four-member group has recorded a dozen albums resulting in nine number-one hits. Members Drew Womack, Michael Britt, Dean Sams, and Randy Rainwater are known for their humanitarian efforts, donating their time and funds to benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and Habitat for Humanity.
Tyler Rich
Californian Tyler Rich released his album “Two Thousand Miles” late last year. Like his fellow “Life In Ink” performers, Rich is involved in a number of noteworthy causes lincluding The Rideout Health Foundation, Music City Gives Back, and AMC Lifting Lives. Tyler’s music has been influenced by artists as diverse as Keith Urban and Michael Jackson. One of his more unique songs is a country take on “Billie Jean”.
Two hundred tickets to Wednesday’s show have been given to VITALANT, a non-profit blood service desperately in need of donations. The organization is hoping to alleviate a critical shortage of life-saving platelets, blamed in large part to the COVID-19 pandemic. As people resume routine activities, busy donors are not making enough appointments or keeping them.
Compared to the beginning of the pandemic, patient needs are stronger than we expected, said Cliff Numark, Vitalant senior vice president. We re seeking about 1,000 additional volunteer donors to make and keep an appointment each week for the foreseeable future to ensure Vitalant can help trauma victims, cancer patients and critical surgeries.”
