Mark Davis sells another stake in the team, the Raiders might be a possible destination for Aaron Rodgers and the Golden Knights sign a key player. All this and more last week in Las Vegas sports (Nov 18 – 24).
#5 Mark Davis agrees to sell 15% of the Las Vegas Raiders
Mark Davis is turning heads after allegedly agreeing to sell a 15% ownership stake in the Las Vegas Raiders. The buyers are reportedly Silver Lake co-CEO Egon Durban and Discovery Land founder Michael Meldman, with both parties set to receive a 7.5% stake.
This comes a month after Tom Brady and his partner’s 10% ownership stake was approved. Now, Davis needs 24 of the 32 teams to vote yes during the next meeting in December.
Davis will still maintain controlling ownership despite selling another stake in the team.
#4 Las Vegas Golden Knights sign Brett Howden to a five-year extension

Brett Howden signed a five-year extension with the Las Vegas Golden Knights last week that will see him making around $2.5 million a season. General Manager Kelly McCrimmon made the announcement only a month after signing Shea Theodore and Brayden McNabb to similar deals.
This is where things get interesting. According to Puckpedia, the Golden Knights have racked up $76.22 million in cap hits for 15 players. This leaves them $16.25 million in cap space for the rest of the free agents. Unfortunately, Adin Hil, Nicolas Hague, and Keegan Kolesar give the organization very little to work with for their deals.
#3 WNBA Fans Outraged over A’ja wilsonWilson’s rumored Unrivaled offer

The UnRivaled league tips off in January, and several WNBA stars will be participating. These include Kelsey Plum, Kate Martin, and Chelsea Grey, who all signed deals! Others are not taking part, including Caitlin Clark and Las Vegas Aces superstar A’ja Wilson, who both rejected multi-million dollar deals.
According to someone who spoke with the Sports Business Journal, Wilson was offered more money than Clark, upsetting some fans.
“We literally got ESPN push notifications about Clark not joining yesterday… A’ja hasn’t even been a footnote. But sure… No agenda here….,” One social media user said in response.
#2 Las Vegas Raiders could sign most experienced quarterback in the league

There should be no doubt that changes are coming to the Las Vegas Raiders in 2025. Tom Dierberger and Karl Rasmussen of Sports Illustrated commented on the matter.
“The Raiders have long been searching for a solution at quarterback. They failed to lock one down this year, as Gardner Minshew, Aidan O’Connell, and Desmond Ridder have all seen action under center,” the writers argue. “Of course, drafting a quarterback seems like the logical solution to their woes at the position, and it’s practically a foregone conclusion that Las Vegas will be in the market for a young arm in next year’s draft.”
They also discussed bringing in an experienced quarterback to train their draft pick. A guy who can act as a bridge until they develop their quarterback. The only problem is the guy they have in mind doesn’t seem like a good idea.
“Still, bringing in [Aaron] Rodgers for the 2025 season could also be a prudent move for the franchise… At 2-9, Las Vegas figures to be picked near the top of the board in next year’s draft. It’s possible whatever quarterback they select—whether it’s Shedeur Sanders, Cam Ward, Quinn Ewers, or someone else—might not immediately be ready to take over the offense. Rodgers is the single most experienced quarterback in the league, and there won’t be a more proven option than him available in the offseason.”
#1 George Russell outclasses the field to win Las Vegas Grand Prix
Formula One returned to Sin City for the Las Vegas Grand Prix, and this time, George Russell took the checkered flag. The 50-lap race around the 3.8-mile street course started at 10 pm and didn’t conclude until after midnight. Russell and Lewis Hamilton both started on the front row and outclassed the field from the start. The only real challenge was an early charge by Charles LeClerc on Russell.
As time passed, Russell and Hamilton quickly started pulling away from the field. The two teammates had more speed and became the only real competitors. Everything came down to the final laps, where Hamilton tried to make up the distance with new tires. He was unsuccessful, however, and used up most of his tires trying to get close. Russell finished seven seconds ahead of the field in an unbelievable showing.
“I don’t know how we’ve been so quick but I’m just riding this wave right now,” Russell said after the race. “Vegas is just a crazy place and when you’re driving and you see all of this in the background, I can’t describe this place. To get a victory here, pole position, and a dominant weekend, one-two with Lewis as well, we couldn’t have chosen a better place to make this happen.”
Max Verstappen made headlines for clinching his fourth straight driver championship. He accomplished this by staying ahead of Lando Norris and finishing in 5th. Hamilton finished second, Carlos Sainz Jr. third, and LeClerc fourth.
