From a victory by the Golden Knights to another loss by the Raiders, here’s everything that happened last week in Las Vegas sports (Oct 24 – 30).
#5 Las Vegas Golden Knights shut out the Anaheim Ducks

The Las Vegas Golden Knights are slowly coming into form under Bruce Cassidy, and it has led to some great results. The latest was a 4-0 shutout against the Anaheim Ducks last Friday, where Logan Thompson fended off 29 total shots. This game marked the third shutout of his career and improved his record as a starter to 4-2
The Las Vegas offense was led by William Karlsson, Reily Smith, Nicolas Roy, and Chandler Stephenson, who combined for four goals, and two assists. While there are a lot of positives from this victory, there was also some controversy. One of them was the fact that Jack Eichel has now failed to score a goal in four straight games.
#4 Magic Johnson in talks to buy a minority stake in the Las Vegas Raiders

According to Semafor, Magic Johnson has assembled a group of investors in hopes of funding a minority ownership stake in the Las Vegas Raiders. It’s unknown whether the deal will go through or not, but it is being reported that negotiations are well underway.
Johnson isn’t the only one interested in owning a minority ownership in the Raiders, however. One report claimed that an unknown buyer offered owner Mark Davis $6.5 billion for a minority stake. If the number is true, that could be a starting price for Johnson to work with.
#3 WWE not interested in bringing Las Vegas native Ryback back

Ryan Ryback Reeves has had one of the most controversial pro wrestling careers in modern-day history. The former Nexus member spent years in the WWE trying to become the next big thing, but also came up short. Unfortunately for Reeves, a series of bad matches, poor behavior backstage, and inuring several talents made the company sour on him. He later left the company after WWE refused to give him a pay raise.
Reeves was so angry about the incident that he started speaking negatively about Vince McMahon on Twitter. The former tag team champion even went so far as to make disgusting remarks about Vince’s dead mother. Sources within WWE are now claiming there is no chance that the company wants anything to do with him. He also has little to no interest in returning to the minor circuits.

#2 Las Vegas Raiders deal Jonathan Hankins to Dallas Cowboys

Jonathan Hankins is now a Dallas Cowboy after being traded by the Raiders for a future sixth-round pick. The move comes as Josh McDaniels has one of the worst defenses in the league and needs to start making changes. Bila Nichols, Kendall Vickers, and Clelin Farrel have all shown significant improvements this season, leaving little need for Hankins.
#1 Las Vegas Raiders suffer 24-0 loss to the New Orleans Saints.

The Las Vegas Raiders took on the New Orleans Saints on Sunday in what many thought would be a competitive game. Unfortunately for Las Vegas, it ended up marking their first shutout of the 2022 season. The Raiders also fell to 2-5 after the loss, putting their season in virtual free-fall mode.
Derek Carr completed 15 of his 26 passes for 101 yards and one interception. His performance was so bad that backup Quarterback, Jarret Stidham, had to step in for 13 snaps on Sunday. He went eight of 13 for 72 yards and zero touchdowns. Mack Hollins carried most of the afternoon’s load, catching seven passes for 64 yards.
Joshua Jacobs rushed for only 43 yards and an average of 4.3 yards a carry in ten handoffs. The most disappointing part of the game was Davantae Adams, who only managed one catch for three yards the entire game. Carr just couldn’t seem to move the ball without his key weapon.
Then there was the Raiders’ defense, which gave up 24 unanswered points throughout the game. Divine Deablo lead the charge with nine tackles and five assisted tackles but accomplished little else. The Raiders didn’t manage a single sack or interception on Sunday, bringing the whole squad another step backward.
And that was last week in Las Vegas sports (Oct 24 – 30)!
