The Good: The Las Vegas Raiders’ running game came alive with Joshua Jacobs.
The Las Vegas Raiders have had one of the worst running games in the entire league, but it didn’t look like it on Sunday. Joshua Jacobs even racked up 144 yards, two touchdowns, and 5.4 yards a carry against the Denver Broncos. Jacobs also delivered the death blow with a seven-yard rush for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.
While Derek Carr flopped throughout the game, Jacobs was the rock that kept the team steady. Zamir White got one carry, but only managed two yards. Derek Carr managed 40 yards on seven carries, which is probably one of his best rushing performances to date. Just an all-around wonderful performance by Jacobs to keep the season alive.
Another Good: The Las Vegas Raiders’ defense.
The Las Vegas Raiders’ defense finally came alive Sunday night against the Denver Broncos, and it was great to see. Amik Robertson even scooped the ball up and scored a 63-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown. This served as Las Vegas’s first defensive touchdown in over three years and served as a momentum boost.
The defense was led by Denzel Perryman, who recorded four tackles and one assisted tackle. Max Crosby scored two sacks on Russel Wilson, while Nate Hobbs nabbed one of his own. Finally, Duron Harmon was the man that knocked the ball out of Melvin Gordon’s hands and paved the way for Robertson’s eventual historic score.

The Bad: The injury report
The Las Vegas Raiders had a plethora of injuries that hindered them throughout the game against Denver. While Nate Hobbs was able to return from last week’s concussion injury, Hunter Renfrow and Foster Moreau weren’t as lucky. They were ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Broncos, leaving Derek Carr with few options.
And the targets that he did have couldn’t find the endzone either. Davantae Adams led the charge with nine catches for 101 yards. He was followed up by Mack Hollins, who hauled in three catches for 33 yards and an average of 11 yards a carry. Unfortunately for the Raiders, only five of their receivers were even able to complete a catch. That’s not a good look, and things need to change before next week’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Ugly: Las Vegas Raiders Quarterback Derek Carr
Derek Carr was the worst thing about Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos. He never managed to get into the endzone, going 21 of 34 for 188 yards. He did manage 40 yards on seven carries, but his job was to throw the ball too. The Raiders had to rely on Daniel Carlson, and Joshua Jacobs to get anything done.
While it is worth noting that the Raiders got the win, Derek Carr didn’t pull his weight. Not $121.5 million worth of it at least. Of course, one could argue that Carr can only do so much without his key weapons, but that’s supposed to be what makes a great franchise quarterback.
