5 Athletes Who Might Want Out of Las Vegas

People come and go in sports, and Las Vegas is no different. There always seems to be a new star coming to Sin City wanting to make a name for themselves.

On the flip side, it also seems there’s a crop of players always looking to get out. Here are five Las Vegas athletes who might want to be released or traded in 2024.

#5 Davantae Adams, Las Vegas Raiders Wide Receiver

Rumors about Davantae Adams wanting out of Las Vegas have continued for two years and show no sign of stopping. Some even speculate that he wants to reunite with Aaron Rodgers in New York. That’s terrible news for the Raiders, and the new coaching staff better incentivize him to stay.

Adams is probably happiest when getting targets and is on a competitive team. Las Vegas hasn’t been a competitive team in two years, and he needs more. He might give the new Raiders a chance, but expect him to be gone if things don’t change.

If it happens, it’ll be a big loss for the Raiders but not a season-ender. They already have Hunter Renfrow, Michael Mayer, Jakobi Meyers, and several other big names at wide receiver.

#4 Joshua Jacobs, Las Vegas Raiders Running Back

Joshua Jacobs is not in a good position with the Las Vegas Raiders after holding out for a better contract during the preseason. Jacobs went on to take 233 carries for 805 yards and six touchdowns before his season ended with a quand injury.

Jacobs also only signed a one-year franchise tag deal, which makes him a free agent. The Raiders might be ready to move on from Jacobs and invest in Zamir White. The new regime isn’t going to be happy with a guy who held out and didn’t produce. They can build on a guy like White, who took 104 carries for 451 yards and one touchdown.

#3 Logan Thompson, Las Vegas Golden Knights Goalie

Logan Thompson isn’t the same man after repeated injuries and is becoming a liability for the Las Vegas Golden Knights. His reliability is waning quickly, and his stats are not on par with what he did last year. He currently sits with a record of 16-10 as a starter and has played in 29 games. His stats get worse from there, with a 2.77 GAA and 83 yards allowed.

Las Vegas has a history of giving up on goalies, and Thompson might not be happy with his status either. It is worth mentioning that Las Vegas has changed goalies several times in the last five years. The Golden Knights or Thompson can’t be happy with what has happened so far, which points to a change coming sooner or later.

#2 Aidan O’Connell, Las Vegas Raiders Quarterback

Aidan O’Connell accomplished a lot in his first season with the Las Vegas Raiders, but he is still unproven. It’s foolish to think O’Connell is going to stay the starter for Las Vegas when the new coach will want to impress the owner. The best way to do this is to find a great quarterback to captain the ship going forward.

And there are some good names in this year’s free agency that are better suited to start. That doesn’t mean they won’t try to keep him, but he might want a chance to play elsewhere. He just doesn’t have the numbers to justify making him the starter right now.

He finished the season with 2218 yards, 12 touchdowns, and seven interceptions in 11 games.

#1 Kelsey Plum, Las Vegas Aces Guard

Kelsey Plum is a crucial player for the Las Vegas Aces, which is why her contract being up has fans worried. Plum is the woman who just finished the 2023 season with 18.7 points, 2.4 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1.1 steals, and a lethal  38.9 percent from behind the arc.

Keep in mind that she is the wife of former Raider Darren Waller, who was traded to the Giants only a few days after their wedding. That trade essentially ruined their plans of staying together in Las Vegas and forced them onto separate career paths.

Plum likely has no bad blood with the team but could want to be reunited with her hubby. This is why there is at least a chance that Plum will not sign a new contract with the Aces.
