What To Do in Las Vegas This Weekend (May 6 – 8)

Go to a beer festival at First Friday, laugh with Chris Rock at the Colosseum, party Kentucky Derby-Style at Place on 7th, and more this weekend in Las Vegas.

1. Go to a beer festival @ First Friday

First Friday is debuting its first-ever beer festival this weekend. Enjoy unlimited sips from local craft brews and nosh on gourmet food. The festival happens within the usual First Friday art walk. Mila Kay is this month’s featured artist. 

When: Friday, 5 – 11 pm. Beer festival starts at 6

2. Laugh with Chris Rock @ the Colosseum

It was the slap heard across the world. Who knows when Will Smith will appear in public again, but Chris Rock is currently in the midst of a whirlwind tour. This weekend, he’s at the Colosseum inside Caesars Palace for two nights.

If you can’t make it, he’ll be back in a few months on July 3.

3. Travel to nearby festivals @ Boulder City & Mesquite

Time for a road trip.

Mesquite is hosting Mesquite Days, an outdoor carnival featuring live music, tons of food, and family-friendly games.

Next, go to Boulder City for the Spring Jamboree. The two-day festival is a celebration of spring and new life. Take advantage of the gorgeous weather and check out the Boulder City Rod Run car show as well. The show is part of the entertainment.

Admission is free at both events.

Spring Jamboree: Bicentennial Park, Wilbur Square, and Escalante Park

4. Party Kentucky Derby-style @ Place on 7th

Put on your fanciest hat for the Kentucky Derby party at Place on 7th. You can cheer on your favorite horse while partying and enjoying the food trucks, games, and live entertainment.

Derby attire is MANDATORY, so leave the jeans at home. Think southern chic and colorful hats.

Tickets are $50.

5. Continue the Cinco de Mayo spirit @ the Margaritas & Tacos Experience

Head to The Lawn at Downtown Summerlin on Saturday for the Margaritas & Tacos Experience. The mini festival features craft vendors, plenty of food trucks, and at least 15 mixologists competing to make the best margarita.

Admission is free, but if you want to sample cocktails, you can buy a Margarita Experience Pass for $55. You’ll also get two tacos.

When: Saturday, 11 am – 9 pm

6. Drink up @ Lee’s Beer & Tequila Experience

This weekend feels like a giant party. The boozy mayhem continues on Saturday with the 14th Annual Beer & Tequila Experience at UNLV’s Thomas & Mack Center. Sip on hundreds of beers and dozens of tequilas while a DJ sets the mood. Tons of food will be available too, but it costs extra.

Tickets are $60 in advance, $70 at the door.
