What to Do in Las Vegas This Weekend (Mar 5 – 7)

Smile, you’re in Vegas! Pools are open and the theater scene is coming back with a vengeance.

1. Book a cabana by the pool

The party’s back in Vegas! Well, sort of. Dayclubs at the pool reopen this weekend. There’ll be music, booze, and pretty people to look at but the party scene will be milder than you’re used to. General admission is banned and there’s no dancefloor. If you want to get in, you’ll need to book at least a daybed.

Dayclubs opening:

Night owl? The Pool Marquee is also open for an after-dark experience. Or you can try Omnia’s newly opened rooftop terrace at Caesars Palace.

2. Cheer on NASCAR drivers at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway

For the first time since the start of the pandemic, the Las Vegas Motor Speedway is welcoming guests. This weekend a limited number of people will be able to watch the Pennzoil 400 as well as the smaller races leading up to it.  Check out the virtual garage if you can’t nab tickets.

3. Go back in time at the 1923 Prohibition Bar

Mandalay Bay’s 1923 Prohibition Bar lets you feel as though you’ve slipped into a speakeasy.  A new live music engagement featuring Nieve Malandra starts this Saturday at 9 pm. The scene won’t be the raucous party environment Vegas is known for, but it’s a start.

4. Sing along with the Ladies of Motown

Shake off the weekday blues and groove to the sounds of Motown. Brand new show “All Motown” premiers Friday. The 75-minute show, featuring all-female performance group the Duchesses of Motown, may be new, but the performers have been dazzling Vegas audiences for years. You can catch the show at the Alexis Park Resort.
