What To Do in Las Vegas This Weekend (Feb 25 – 28)

Celebrate Carnival at SushiSamba, party with Cheap Trick, eat lunch with Derek Carr, and more this weekend in Las Vegas.

1. Celebrate Carnival at SushiSamba

Head over to SushiSamba at the Venetian for an early dose of Carnival. The restaurant is celebrating the Brazilian festival with dancers, drummers,  and food and drink specials.

Enjoy treats like fruity caipirinhas, Yuca Fritters, Feijao Tropeiro, and more.

When: Thursday – Tuesday. The dancers will perform on Friday and Saturday starting @ 8 pm

2. Party with Cheap Trick

It’s time to rock out with Cheap Trick.

The legendary band is playing at The Strat Showroom this weekend.  Tickets start at $75. If you can’t make it this weekend, no worries. You’ll get your chance to “Surrender ” when the band rockers return March 4 -5.

3. Eat lunch with Derek Carr

Are you a veteran, first responder, or active duty servicemember? Enjoy a free lunch with Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr.

The meal, part of Carr’s Alter Men’s Conference initiative, will be at Central Christian Church in Henderson. Carr founded the Alter Men’s Conference to support and build a community among spiritual men. The full conference will be in April.

4. Sample more than 40 beers

The Nevada Beer Dash is a two-part festival for brewery lovers.

First, grab your sneakers and give it your all on the Beer Mile Relay. Next, it’s time to drink up! The festival will feature at least 40 brews from more than 20 local Nevada breweries. You don’t need to run the race to attend the beer party.

When: Saturday, Beer Mile Relay @ 1:30 pm (sign in from 12-30 – 1:15 pm), Beer Party from 2 – 5 pm 

Where: Cornerstone Park 

5. Run on the Strip

The Rock n’ Roll Marathon is back! Sort of… This year, there’s no full marathon; instead, runners can choose between a half-marathon, a 10k, and a 5k race.

Pick one of the bigger races, and you’ll get to run down the gloriously lit Strip at night without worrying about traffic. Cars will be rerouted while the race is unfolding.

Or, you can run in the Downtown 5k. Register for all races here.
