Top 5 Biggest Las Vegas Sports Stories This Week (Dec 21 – 27)

The Las Vegas sports world was on fire this week. Join us as we count down the very best moments!

#5 Jon Gruden comments on Josh Jacobs making pro bowl.

It s no secret that hard work pays off, and that is precisely what Josh Jacobs has been putting in all season long. Of course, he has been dealing with a string of injuries that have kept him off the field at times, but he is still one of the leading rushers in the entire league. That’s why this year he was selected to participate in the Pro Bowl for the first time in his career.

While it might not be the Super Bowl game that Jacobs eventually hopes to play in, it is a sign that he is starting to get the recognition he deserves. Raiders head coach, Jon Gruden, was asked about Jacobs: “I think when you get selected to the Pro Bowl, it’s not by accident…  He’s improved as a receiver. He’s a tough dude, man. He’s gotten better in all areas.”

#4 Las Vegas Golden Knights release 2021 schedule

The Las Vegas Golden Knights released their 2021 schedule this week and revealed that their season will start on January 14 against the Anaheim Ducks. The Golden Knights will then face the Ducks again a few days later before moving on to a four-game series against Arizona. This repetitive scheduling is due to the NHL s new alignment strategy for the 2021 season.

This means the Golden Knights will only be playing teams in their division, including Arizona, Anaheim, San Jose, Los Angeles, Colorado, St Louis, and Minnesota. While this idea might get slightly repetitive after a while, it might help the Knights make an easy case for the playoffs.

#3 Las Vegas Aces star center, Liz Cambage wins Australia Championship

Liz Cambage is once again a champion!

The Las Vegas Aces star might have opted out of the season due to pandemic concerns, but that didn t stop her from going on to play for the Melbourne Southside Flyers, and winning the Australian league championship.

It s nice to see Cambage back on the court.  What is also nice to see is the fact that she is still in winning form and could help lead the Las Vegas Aces to a championship in 2021.

#2 Kyle Busch listed as highest paid NASCAR Cup Series driver

Kyle Busch is a lot of things. A champion, a perfectionist, and one of the best NASCAR drivers currently racing in the Cup Series. Believe it or not, according to Essentiallysports, he is also the highest-paid Cup Series driver of the year. In fact, Busch sits at 17.8 million, which includes his driver contract, endorsement deals, and the racing teams he owns.

Kyle Busch may have had one of the worst seasons of his entire Cup Series career, but at least he brought in 17.6 million dollars in the process. Heck, he can retire on that kind of money if he wants to.

#1 #1 Jon Gruden gives glowing review of Marcus Mariota s Vegas debut

What is there left to say about Marcus Mariota s debut last week that hasn t already been said? Seriously though, the former Oregon Duck was nothing short of dynamic in the Raiders’ 30-27 loss to the Chargers and proved that he is a practical alternative to Derek Carr. In fact, Raiders coach, Jon Gruden gave Mariota a glowing review after the game.

That was tough on Marcus, tough on our team, tough on the offensive line, tough on our skill guys, coach Jon Gruden said this week. We switched gears. We went to a completely different world offensively in a lot of places. Mariota still proved he s a dual threat. He s obviously very sharp. He can handle a lot of situations. And if need be, he ll be ready again.
