#5 Dallas Cowboys not interested in Jeff Heath
It’s no secret that veteran safety, Jeff Heath, put up less than stellar numbers last season, prompting the Las Vegas Raiders to cut him from the team and look towards younger talent. While that was bad news for Heath, who was probably hoping to stay with the Raiders, he then got the idea of going back to the Cowboys. Unfortunately for Heath, several insiders are claiming that the Cowboys are not interested in a reunion with the safety at this time, leaving him to continue to float in free agency.
We know Jeff and Jeff s done great things for us and he went to (Las Vegas) and had a great season, Cowboys vice president of player personnel Will McClay said on 105.3’s the Fan. But we re going to go through and look at what we have on the roster and we re going to look at every opportunity to improve us if it makes sense.
#4 Kyle Busch conquers Kansas for first win of season
Las Vegas native Kyle Busch took home his first victory of the 2021 season last Sunday at Kansas Motor Speedway. He managed to outlast Kyle Larson and several other hard-chargers on a late restart to run away with the eventual victory on his birthday no less. Busch later celebrated with his family in victory lane and seems to be all smiles now that he has notched a win with new crew chief, Ben Beshore.
“What s really cool is that we started the race good and we worked our way forward from the start of the race… I look forward to hopefully being able to celebrate with my team and hopefully have a good night tonight. It s cool to be able to work the way we did today,” Busch said.
#3 Tension brewing after controversial Raiders draft pick
Did Jon Gruden go rogue? That’s the question being asked after the Las Vegas Raiders selected Ales Leatherwood in the first round of the draft. The pick left many shocked and had countless pundits wondering if the organization had once again overvalued a pick for no real season. Rumor has it that Coach Gruden went rogue with this one- some even claimed he didn’t talk to the team’s owner, Mike Mayock. Things cooled down , however, when Mayock commented on the controversial pick
“Coach Cable has been all over him for months now, Mayock said after the first round on Thursday. Gruden loved this guy. Our scouts loved this guy. And what I like is, when the second floor in our building, which is all the coaches, and the third floor, which is all the scouts, when we re united on a conversation like Leatherwood, that makes me feel really good about the pick.
#2 Fan attendence at Las Vegas Aces games still unclear
Sad news, Las Vegas Aces fans- officials still don’t know whether in-person attendance will be allowed at games. Honestly, it would be an absolute tragedy if fans can’t watch the team compete this year! With the amount of star power this team now possesses and how far they made it last season, all eyes are on Las Vegas right now. So why not capitalize on the attention by allowing fan support at games? Just let Aces Nation see their team kick butt and get back to the finals.
#1 Former Raiders Quarterback speaks out on Derek Carr situation
It’s no secret that Derek Carr is a good Quarterback; he just hasn’t had the success the Raiders hoped for. And with Marcus Mariota waiting in the wings and Aaron Rodgers potentially wanting to join the team, it seems unlikely that the team will waste too much more time trying to make Carr into the right fit.
Former Raiders Quarterback Jay Schroeder sounded off on the ongoing situation during an interview on Raider Nation radio. Interestingly enough, he seems to believe that change is coming to the team, and Carr’s days might be numbered.
“Derek Carr, he has played very well the last few years… Unfortunately, in the NFL, one of two things is going to happen, if you don’t have success, you’re going to change your head coach, or you’re going to change your quarterback,” Schroeder said. “It’s just the way it is. Let’s call it what it is.”
