Las Vegas has been my go-to vacation destination for close to 15 years. The first time I went to Sin City, I had just turned 21 and wanted to celebrate in a big way. My last trip was just last year before the Covid-19 Pandemic reared its ugly head.
I m already planning my next visit, and in doing so, I ve found myself going down memory lane.
Recalling my most memorable moments in Las Vegas has been a great deal of fun, so I decided to share with you my Top 5 Vegas Vacation Moments!
I Lost My Phone

A couple of years back, I went to Vegas with a couple of buddies to vent off steam after a bad breakup. As is typical of these broken-hearted trips, I proceeded to get extremely drunk the first night in town. Leaving the club we were in (I think we hit Omnia, at the Caesar s, that night, but my memory is hazy), I realized my phone was gone.
Instead of going back to our suite and wallowing in self-pity, I decided to go play some blackjack, while my friends, too tired to keep going, went to bed.
The next morning, my friends joined me for breakfast. Much to their surprise (and mine, if we are being honest), I had won enough money to treat everyone to a hearty breakfast at The Brass Fork, AND buy a new phone!
Spent Thousands of Dollars For 13 Seconds Of Entertainment

McGregor won his first undisputed UFC title with a knockout triumph over the incomparable Jos Aldo at the MGM Grand Garden on December 12, 2015.
It only took him 13 seconds.
I was there.
I remember watching Tyson bite Hollyfield s ear on Pay-per-view when I was a kid. My dad and my uncles were so disappointed at having spent $50 for the fight.
Watching McGregor knockout Aldo with a lightning-quick hook was glorious. I didn t care that I d spend thousands of dollars on travel, lodging, and tickets to be there. The energy that night was infectious. Totally worth it.
Seeing The Strip For The First Time

Like I mentioned earlier, my first trip to Vegas was to celebrate my 21st birthday. I thought myself mature and sophisticated (now I know better), but the very first time I saw the Strip in all of its neon glory, my jaw dropped.
I d seen this place so many times in movies and tv shows, that it felt familiar and instilled in me a sense of belonging that I haven t been able to shake since. That night I started a lifelong tryst with the City of Sin.
Menage A Trois

I had a threesome in Vegas.
A gentleman doesn t kiss and tell, so I won t go into too many details, but there was a substantial amount of alcohol involved, and a girl I was dating at the time felt extremely adventurous that night.
I ll never, ever, forget that night.
Even if I get hit in the head hard enough to suffer from amnesia, I know with certainty that the memory of that night will forever remain in my head!
Prince

I was born in the early 80s, so I was too young to have caught Prince in his prime. When Purple Rain turned the music world upside down I was still wearing diapers. I missed Parade, Dirty Mind, and Around The World In A Day.
But I saw Prince live on New Year s of 2006. It was breathtaking. The man was a musical genius.
This is why I will continue to visit Vegas until the day I die. Las Vegas is a city where legends walk amongst men, where Lady Luck flirts freely with those who dare court her, and where, as cliche as it may sound, dreams come true.
