The Las Vegas Aces have quite a few changes to make throughout the offseason. Part of their work will be filling the hole left by Liz Cambage at center,  but they also need to work towards strengthening other positions. The Aces took a big step toward this last week by signing veteran Guard Sydney Colson. Colson could go a long way in adding depth to a bench that is still in need of fine-tuning when the starters are off the court.

I m excited that the Aces reached out, and I m very much looking forward to being in training camp again, said Colson. I knew I could still compete last season when I was out of the league, but I believe in divine timing, and I try not to question things. I m all about seizing the moment and the opportunity that s in front of me, so that s what I plan to go do.

#3 Las Vegas native Kurt Busch rallies to finish 8th at Auto Club Speedway

It s no secret that Kurt Busch has had a rough start to his 2022 season, and those struggles continued last week at Auto Club Speedway in California. Unfortunately for Busch, his team failed tech inspection three times and was thus not permitted to post a qualifying time for the race. He was also forced to start a lap down in the back of the pack. Still, Busch did his best to right the ship. In fact, the former Cup Series Champion worked all afternoon to move up from the back of the pack to 8th before the checkered flag finally flew. It may not have been the victory lane moment the team was looking for, but it definitely served as a gut check.

I can t describe what we went through today with all the adversity, all of the problems the self-inflicted things, the oddball scenarios. Wow. What a top 10. That is a statement piece for us at 23XI, to get our top 10 like this with everything we have been through. I ve got to thank all of my guys for staying focused. They showed me the way, and I showed them what we ve got to do this year to keep chiseling away,” Busch said after the race.

#2 Tony Khan claims that Jon Moxley played critical role in helping acquire Bryan Danielson

Bryan Danielson made his debut for AEW in 2021 and while the move set the Pro Wrestling world on fire, the best was yet to come. Not only was that evident by his debut match against Kenny Omega, which went to a draw after a 30-minute time limit, but also due to his eventual feud with Las Vegas native Jon Moxley. Interestingly enough,  AEW President Tony Khan revealed during a recent interview that  Moxley played a key role in acquiring Danielson.

“I don’t know if people know,” Khan said during an interview with Jim Varsallone, “Jon Moxley’s a big reason why Bryan Danielson came to AEW in the first place. He really vouched for this place. He gave his word to Bryan that this is a great place to work and that helped connect me.”

#1 Derek Carr and tje Las Vegas Raiders have not entered contract negotiations yet

What does the future hold for Derek Carr and The Las Vegas Raiders? That is the question everyone in Raider Nation is still trying to figure out as rumors swirl around the franchise Quarterback. With that being said, head coach Josh McDaniels has made it clear that he wants to work with Carr in 2022, and it doesn’t look like much will change that.

While McDaniels admitted last week that the team has not officially opened talks about a contract extension for Carr, it seems like that is the plan going forward. McDaniels also made headlines this week by claiming that Carr will likely be the starter in Week 1 of 2022, only furthering the idea that a deal is coming soon. How much it will ultimately be worth remains to be seen, but Carr is supposedly hoping to be one of the highest-paid QBs in the league.

“But that doesn’t mean that’s not going to change,” McDaniels said. “I’ve met and spoken to Derek a number of times now, just trying to begin our relationship. I think it’s really an important one — the head coach, the play-caller, the quarterback, getting to know one another as people. Kind of how we think. How we work. The football part of that will come later.”
