Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak had so much faith in his Golden Knights that he offered to wear a Montreal Canadiens jersey if they came up short in their semi-final matchup. Unfortunately for Sisolak, he was forced to eat those words and wear the Canadiens jersey in a post on social media. He took it all in stride though as he congratulated the team on a phenomenal season and even admitted that their jerseys were in high demand.
“It took me a while to find a [Canadiens] jersey (they were in high demand!) to make good on my bet…, but I’m a man of my word. I want to congratulate Montreal on a hard-fought season,” the Governor wrote.
2. Kyle Busch racks up 101st Xfinity Series win at Road America

Las Vegas nativr Kyle Busch scored his 101st career Xfinity Series win last weekend at Road America and did so in a very dramatic fashion. This included him being spun out multiple times during the race and utilizing new tires to overtake AJ Allmendinger for the lead with 45 laps to go. Busch would go on to lead the rest of the race, giving him his 4th win in his 4th Xfinity Series start of the season. When he emerged from his car after his victory, he offered his signature bow before soaking in the crowd’s reaction, who all seemed somewhat upset that Busch was still competing in the series.
Of course, much of this has to do with the Xfinity Series being for drivers looking to make a name for themselves in NASCAR, but you could argue that Busch being there gives them a better chance of doing it. Busch in the Xfinity Series is good for ratings and also brings more fans to the race every weekend
3. Kenyan Drake predicts he will play big role in Raiders’ offense

The Las Vegas Raiders shocked the sports world by signing Kenyan Drake during the offseason, and while some in Raider Nation are upset about the decision, others are waiting to see what he can do. In fact, Drake was asked what kind of role he would play in the upcoming season and had a very interesting answer.
“I’m definitely excited to see how our roles continue to develop with obviously Josh being the main guy to do what he needs to do because I have much respect and love for him and his game and what coach (Jon) Gruden has planned for us in that specific capacity,” Drake said. “But I feel like I might have a big role in this offense. With them being a top-10 offense last year, the sky is the limit for us. I’m ready to see us take it to the next level.”
4. Derek Carr puts rumors of beef with Tom Brady to rest

Does Tom Brady have it out for Derek Carr?
Brady recently complained to HBO about losing a Quarterback position to another player- and many think he’s talking about Derek Carr.
“There was a story in free agency and one of the teams, they were interested and all of a sudden they weren’t interested in the very end,” Brady said during an interview on HBO’s The Shop. “I was thinking, ‘You’re sticking with that mother f—er? Are you serious?'”
Believe it or not, the Raiders were on Brady’s shortlist of potential destinations, but they abruptly backed out on the GOAT. Still, Carr says people who think Brady was talking about him are probably wrong.
“From what I know, it wasn’t me, which is good,” Carr said. “If it was, I’ve gotten in enough trouble trying to challenge some people to fights. As a man, Tom, I know you got the rings, but if it’s not me, then we’re good. What I heard is it wasn’t me and so I’m good with that… But hey, if it was, then that’s different.
Hmm. What do you think?
5. Conor McGregor Loses to Dustin Poirier

It was the biggest pay-per-view event of the year, and it was all over in five minutes. For the second time in six months, Dustin Poirier beat Conor McGregor. McGregor seriously injured his leg during the first round of the bout, leading to the fight being called in Poirier’s favor. Team McGregor is, predictable, steaming.
This is not over. If I have to take this outside with him, it s on outside,” the Notorious fighter fumed after Saturday’ss loss.
