#5 Kyle Busch goes crazy after wrecking in opening laps at New Hampshire

NASCAR and rain don’t mix. Las Vegas native Kyle Busch experienced this first hand last Sunday at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway. While the two-time Cup Series champion started on the pole for Sunday’s event, his day was ruined in a matter of minutes when rain flooded one of the turns and sent his Toyota Camry hydroplaning into the wall. The damage was pretty bad upon initial impact, and Kyle Busch was not happy that NASCAR didn’t flag the event for rain sooner.

This resulted in Busch going on a mini rampage and bumping into the pace car several times during the pace laps. Many fans thought Busch had gone insane and deserved to be penalized for the incident; it was an interesting couple of minutes of television to watch. After putting on a show, Rowdy made his way to pit road and packed it in.

#4 WWE seemingly hesistant to pull trigger on Roman Reigns versus John Cena at SummerSlam

WWE SummerSlam is set for this August at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, but the company made a surprising move regarding the pay-per-view on Friday Night SmackDown last week. The incident happened during the night’s final segment when Universal Champion, Roman Reigns, announced that he would NOT be taking up John Cena’s offer of a title match at SummerSlam. The announcement was met with massive boos that echoed throughout the arena and created questions about what happens next.

Interestingly enough, John Cena didn’t appear at the end of the show to try to goad Reigns into a match. Instead, former NXT Champion Finn Balor made his way to the ring to challenge Reigns himself. It appears that WWE wants to reveal Cena versus Reigns at a later date. At the very least, it seems like WWE wants fans to outright demand this match before they actually make it the main event of SummerSlam.

#3 Jackie Young announced as replacement for Tokyo Olympics

The 2021 Toyoko Olympics are finally upon us, and Las Vegans are representing. One example is Las Vegas Aces player Sue Bird, who will be replacing Katie Lou Samuelson in the 3×3 Women’s Olympic basketball competition in Toyko. This news comes after Samuelson was placed in health and safety protocol earlier this week, making her unable to compete in the upcoming games. Young will be joined by fellow Aces teammate, Kelsey Plum in the 3×3 basketball tournament, giving the new combination a bit of automatic chemistry.

#2 Mike Mayock jokes that Derek Carr and Jon Gruden are like a corny married couple

Las Vegas Raiders coach Jon Gruden and star quarterback Derek Carr are in year four of their partnership, and while they did have a winning season last year, nothing else seems to have gone to plan. In fact, they suffered a record of 7-9 or worse in the last three seasons, making Carr one of the most polarizing quarterbacks in the NFL. And a lot of blame is being heaped on Coach Gruden’s shoulders, too.

Raiders GM Mike Mayock joined the NFL Rhodes show with Lindsay Rhodes to discuss the upcoming season and had a few interesting remarks about the relationship between his quarterback and his coach.

“They’re definitely on the same page. Derek is even finishing Jon’s sentences now,” Mayock said during the interview .”It’s like a corny marriage. It’s really funny.”

Mayock obviously still believes that the Carr/Gruden duo is something special.

What does the future hold for Alec Martinez of the Las Vegas Golden Knights?

Martinez was a crucial part of the Las Vegas Golden Knights playoff run this season, and you’d think he would be more than happy to return to the championship-caliber team. Unfortunately for those hoping that is the case, Martinez is apparently weighing whether or not to enter free agency during the postseason. It’s being reported that the Knights have made an offer to Martinez to get him to sign a new contract with the team, but insiders note that he could probably make a lot more money if he were to enter free agency.

Martinez was responsible for nine goals, 23 assists, and three power-play goals during the regular season. His postseason performance was less impressive due to an injury, but Martinez seems like an asset.
